Should i get a second pair of shoes

Rockie, on June 2, 2019 at 6:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
So let me start off by saying I love my wedding shoes (sneakers) but today we went out and bought a pair of shoes for FH. We went in looking for brown shoes (he is wearing a grey tux and white shirt) but left with these amazing blue shoes. They were a custom order for someone who never picked them up and we got a great price for them. It made me question wearing sneakers to walk down the isle in since I feel like his are so formal. Our wedding is fairly formal (I’m in a full skirted A line dress, he’s in a tux as are his groomsmen) and it’s an evening wedding even though we both tend to be a little edgy (think leather jackets and tattoos but still wear girly dresses and always have hair done) . Just curious, do I get a second shoe? Something like the one in the Pinterest picture

    A. I think your white shoes are super cute! B. You have a floor length dress, so no one will really see your shoes. C. You have to think about tailoring. If you wear heels and then switch to flats, your dress will be too long in the flats as it is hemmed to you in heels.

I personally go for comfort over fashion, but I also can't stand in heels for more than like 10 minutes.

We’re having a formal wedding and I do plan on wearing heels for the ceremony(and a sheath style gown). Not sure what shoes FH will wear though. I will be changing into different shoes for the reception and they are pretty awesome. I say if you want to wear the original ones you bought do it. Or wear fancy heels for the ceremony and then change for the reception. Here are the shoes I’ll be changing into

I went to a wedding yesterday and the bride wore black Keds. No one saw them at all at the ceremony because of the length of her dress. No one saw them at the reception until she showed them off. I'd say don't worry about it unless you want a cute shoe photo, or your dress is hemmed too short.

Yeah if I went for a second shoe it would definitely have to be a very low heel

It would probably be mostly for photo op, since like your friend I don’t think they would be seen. I think it’s mostly just me feeling like I won’t feel fancy enough haha

Thanks! It’s hard not to get caught up in what most brides wear sometimes. But I agree, this shoes are definitely ‘me’

We're having a semi-formal wedding and I'm wearing Chucks with my dress. Comfort trumps all. Smiley laugh

Where did you get the white shoes from? We just got FH’s shoes today and they are also dressy but I want something comfy.

Daughter and SIL's wedding was fairly formal at a country club-type venue, and she wore an a-line ballgown. She wore her absolutely favorite shoes, Converse Chuck Taylors in the color of the bridesmaid's dresses. We took them to a local t-shirt shop and had them customized with her married name and the wedding date -- they were adorable and she was comfortable all day and night. The few times her shoes "showed," they were super cute and people loved them. I think your shoes are great, and if I were you, I'd wear them all day and dance your heart out! Smiley heart

I'm wearing 1 inch platform sneakers. But I think for the ceremony I may want 2-3 inch heels not for comfort or for style, but to help with my posture and shape. My booty hasta be on point.

No!! don't get another pair just because you think yours would be too casual. i am in flats too for mine and honestly it would be way more comfortable and besides, if you don't have a short dress, no one sees it anyway.

go with what you're comfortable with in this case
