Should i do a sparkler send off?

Monica, on February 12, 2018 at 10:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

How many people are doing a sparkler send off?? I feel like the timing has to be perfect for it to be successful. Is it worth it?? Not really sure about it. Also thought about big gold confetti.

Careful on confetti especially if its an outside wedding lots of places won't let you use anything not bio degradable

Just make sure your venue allows it. Ours says no to both sparklers and confetti, or pretty much anything that's either a liability or not biodegradable or easily cleaned up. I think we might do glow sticks.

There are low smoke wedding sparklers that last five minutes or so. My FH and I are going to have a sparkler dance outside with just the bridal party instead of a send off. Going to dance to Burn by Elle Goulding. And then afterwards we will probably spend a little bit outside playing with sparklers because who doesn’t love those things? 😂

The county we live in doesn’t allow it. I’d love to do one but at the same time I want to stay and party with
    my guests until midnight

I love the sparkler look!! Our venue doesn’t allow it- plus we will be going back to the hotel with everyone to hang out some more so no big send off.

If you do it just make sure you have enough lighters and the big sparklers. At my sister's friend's wedding they got regular sparklers and didn't think to get any lighters. All the smokers were trying to light them and we tried to get others lit from the already lit ones but by the time we had a few lit they were already going out.

We're definitely doing one, but we're going to get the 5-minute sparklers. I really hope the pictures turn out well!

I'm definitely doing one because I've always wanted one. However now I'm a little afraid because my future sister in law got burned at her wedding on her collarbone. She said it looked nasty all on their honeymoon. But I think the walkway was too narrow for the exit so I'm making sure we have tons of space.

If i can throw out a potentially unpopular opinion, having been a guest at a lot of weddings that have done this... to me, they always feel a bit "fake" so to speak. Especially if know I'm going to see the couple at the after party, or back at the hotel, and it just seems like hustling people outside for your photo op is a bit contrived. That said, I do always think the photos look beautiful! In the end, do what feels right to you!

I’m huge on sparkler sendoffs. I wish I could do it at my venue, and would totally support anyone who is allowed do one!

As a guest I find them annoying. You are likely drunk, waiting around, wanting to go home or get back to the party. You have to likely maybe do a few shots or takes to get it right. Video and photo people running around. Your feet hurt. You are afraid of getting burned by other drunk folk.

I am anti sparkler send off. Personally I will be on the dance floor until the last song.
