Should I call David's Bridal to find out if my dress has come in????

Emma, on March 5, 2014 at 1:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hi

I order my dress from David's Bridal store. They said it was going to take 4 months to come in. So basically in May I had to alter it and my wedding is in June. I've heard stories that the dresses from David's Bridal come in quick. But it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything from them. Not even an e-mail. And I know David's Bridal has some bad reviews so I'm starting to worry. If some dresses come in within two weeks, why do others take longer? I don't know if I should call or just be patient.

They told you four months, so if you don't hear from them in four months, start calling.

it's irrational to expect a turnaround of 3 weeks when they said 4 months. i don't care what store it is.

It never hurts to call... unless your calling 12 times a day..

I'd wait until 3 months, since they told you 4. Three weeks is unreasonable, IMO.

I agree with Kate but, I just purchased my dress on Sunday from DB, I was told the middle of May, My wedding is May 16, and the sales woman said they are "stocking the warehouse" right now so it may come in sooner.

You have enough time you should be fine I would wait to call at least until April.

Up to you but every time a dress arrives in store, I get a phone call from them along with an email.

We ordered 3 BM dresses and 2 MOB dresses.

I ordered mine from David's Bridal also. However I did this 7 months before my date. I was given a two month time line (my dress was brand new and they were still stocking stores with it). My dress only came in about 2 weeks early and that was with them stocking stores with it. Wait to call them. No reason to call when it has only been 3 weeks.

You ordered kinda late so your just going to have to cross your fingers and hope it comes in early. Doesn't Davids have a rush order thing?

I ordered a veil in January and I'm still waiting on it to come in and I was told it would by there by March 17...I'm hoping it comes in before March 15 because that's my first fitting...If they told you it will be there by a certain date it will I've never heard of anyone NOT getting their dress on time at the very least

I order it late because me and my hubby are having a small intimate wedding. We didn't want to wait so long to get married. What will happen if my dress hasn't come in a month before the wedding? Should I ask for my money back and get another one? I'm just wondering, since you never know...

I would have bought off the rack to begin with since your wedding is now 3 months away. you can always ask to cancel your order and see if they'll give you store credit toward another dress, but they are not obligated to do so

If it doesnt come in by May I would call them and see if they can expedite it. If they cant, you may want to see if they can cancel the order, refund you store credit, and you would have to find a dress off the rack.

I don't believe you can get your money back, (usually stores have a 30 day refund policy. This is from when the order is placed but you will have to ask them), but they may give you store credit. Four months is about accurate for how long a dress takes to come in, and since that is what they told you before ordering the dress, they arent liable if it isnt in before your wedding.

My dress came in super early though so hopefully yours will as well.
