Should I buy my David's Bridal gown ONLINE or at the store?? They said it was going to take a while.

Emma, on February 11, 2014 at 3:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hello

So I found my gown at David's Bridal and now I'm sure about getting it. I have to order a size 0 because they didn't had my size at the store, plus I have to do alterations so the dress is not too long.

I don't know if I should buy it online though because they said it was going to be ready at the end of April and my wedding is in June. I still have to alter it. Is it quicker to order it online?? Has anyone done it?? And how long do alterations take if I decide to buy it at the store?? I'm planning on doing alterations with them so that the dress fits perfectly.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'd just order it through the store. Typically their dresses come in much quicker then they say. You will still have time if you get it by the end of April anyways.

It will not be quicker to buy online. The lead time is the same in store or online. Like Laudie said, a lot of the time it comes in quicker. If it does come in at the end of April you will still have plenty of time for alterations.

I ordered my dress in early January, they said it would be April when it came in. I got it two weeks later.

And same for all 6 of my bridesmaids. They said June-July for all their dresses. 4/6 have already come in.

My bridal party ordered their dresses from DB online and they had them shipped and received in about a week. And they're flawless.

I ordered through the store, and it didn't take nearly as long to come in as they said it would. Even if it does come in at the end of April, they will still have time to alter it for you (if you have someone else who can do the alterations, it would probably be cheaper though).

They most likely said April as being the absolute longest it would take, to cover for anything unexpected that may come up.

Even if it does take that long, April to June is plenty of time to get alterations done.

My bridesmaids dresses from Davids Bridal were quoted for 2-3 month delivery time and they've all gotten them within 2-3 weeks, so it'll probably come in faster than they quote you.

My dress came in super fast. I ordered early because everyone said it would take 3-4 months. It took two weeks (and I think they told me 8 weeks when I ordered it). Now I have to store it for almost 6 months.

My cousin was engaged Dec, ordered her dress Feb and received it by March. I ordered mine in early Nov, came in mid January (It was a special order though). I also have gotten bridesmaid dresses there, and they are pretty quick. If you tell them your situation they'll guide you. They're good with that! Also the fittings aren't a huge deal, I went in to try my dress on when it came in and the seamstress did the fitting right there (this was like a week ago) and she said she'll have it for Feb 28th. I'm getting the bustle, bra cups, and the hem done.
