Should i be worried?

The venue we decided to go with told us that there is no minimum consumption fee in an email. But we just received the contract and it has a minimum consumption fee. The venue is located in Costa Rica where my fiancé is from, so I know they do business there differently, and we plan on spending much more than the minimum amount, but it bothers me.     It’s pretty normal to go back and forth on a couple contract points, so I wouldn’t be totally concerned. Our first contract didn’t accurately reflect a couple things we had discussed and I mentioned them to my coordinator and she said “you’re absolutely right! Let me fix that for you and send a new contract!” — a lot of places have a basic standard that they may be flexible on but the starting contract includes it and it just needs to be edited out— a thing or two getting missed on the first go isn’t a big deal. It’s the response that matters, I suppose. I’d just respond and point out that you were told no minimum. Talk through it and get on the same page. It’s not a red flag til they respond badly (ex: not acknowledging it, not compromising on it)

    Yeah, they aren’t even acknowledging why it’s a problem for me and haven’t removed it... although, it may be due to a communication issue due to English being their second language. Should I still worry?

    I think it may be a language. Maybe they thought it meant food and not drinks.

    Actually, I went ahead and showed them the email where they clearly stated they don't charge the minimum consumption fee and they removed the language. Thanks guys!
