Should Bridesmaid Match My Dress??

Kelsie, on September 16, 2019 at 9:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

So my dress is an ivory lace overlay, with moscato underneath. My bridesmaids will be wearing a wine color dress, however I am stuck on what style would look best against my dress. Should they have some type of lace in their dresses as well? Or would that be too much?

It's really up to you, there's nothing wrong with matching or not matching to your dress either way. Personally, I would rather not have the bridesmaids have lace that matched my dress!

I don’t think it matters at all. Both of the dresses you picked are beautiful so maybe check with your girls to see what they like.

I had to make the same decision.. As much as I LOVED the bridesmaid's dresses with the lace at the top, I felt like the bridesmaids having lace would take away from the lace detail in my dress and for that I had them choose a dress that did not have lace in it. Aside from color, it was the one thing that separated us as my dress is fairly simple.

Both are beautiful! You could even do a mixture of both

I like the first one a little better because you'd stand out more, but I really think they're both good options. If you want to make your MOH stand out, you could have her go with the lace top dress, and the bridesmaids have the plainer dresses.

I had the same debate. I was thinking of having my ladies in gold sequin dresses but it was just too much next to my dress. My dress is ivory/champagne so the lace really stands out. There just seemed to be too much going on with the added texture.

I think both options look nice but I'd go without the lace

I'd personally opt for the solid ones. As a PP said, there's a lot of texture in your dress and you don't want to be outshined Smiley smile
