Shortening dance songs?

Future Mrs. Barker, on January 1, 2018 at 2:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hi everyone!
I have had a hard time choosing a father-daughter dance song, and the one I finally decided on is "You'll be in My Heart" by Phil Collins. The only problem is that it is over 4 minutes long. I do not want my father-daughter dance to last that long. Does anyone know of any way I can shorten the song by cutting out the middle of it? Can my DJ do that? Or does anyone know of a "radio short version" or anything? I don't want the soundtrack version from the movie. I would like Phil Collins because I grew up listening to him with my dad.
Thanks!

I didn’t have a father-daughter dance, but we shortened our first dance song by just having it fade out and into the song we chose to get everyone on the dance floor. Your DJ could probably do something like that.

Your DJ can do that for you. You don't have to include all the verses.

You could have your dj ask any other father daughters out there to join the dance at a minute in or so. That way you still have your moment with your dad but others are included also and it’s more fun to watch.

This is an easy task for your DJ to do. Just pick the part you want and your DJ can have it ready to fade in and out.

Our DJ offered fo fade out for us, so I’m assuming it’s pretty easy to do.
