Short or long veil with my dress

K, on October 27, 2019 at 6:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hi! I am getting married on Saturday (AHH!) and I am starting to be in freakout mode and my latest dilemma is my veil. Below is a picture of the back of my dress. I had a cathedral length veil shortened to 75" so that it is supposed to be just about floor length. The problem is when I had tried it on in the store, I was standing on a pedestal so it did not resemble what it will actually look like especially since I am 5 feet tall (plus 3.5 inch heels)....so now it looks longer than it should be. I took it in to a bridal store and asked about altering it but she recommended I leave it alone and suggested I go with a cathedral length veil in the first place. >_<

I don't want to take away from the focus on the train so I am wondering what veil length you would wear with this? Fingertip length? Knee length? Unfortunately I don't have a picture of me wearing the veil with the dress from behind Smiley sad

I personally don’t think you even need a veil.

That dress is absolutely stunning. If it were me I wouldn’t wear one so the dress is the focal point.

I would do fingertip. That way you can still have the bridal look and feeling of wearing a veil and it won’t cover up your stunning train. I’m also getting married this weekend in a Maggie Sottero and I opted for a fingertip length specifically because of the train, in my opinion it gives all the drama of a cathedral length veil anyway so why take away from it.

I am doing a finger tip one because I have a big train. If your cathedral veil isn't the right length and want to stay with it, ask you hair stylist. Depending on how she places it it can change the length. I would see if she can help!
