Short notice!? How to start?!?

Sam, on August 27, 2018 at 7:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
So. My wedding is November 3rd. Of THIS YEAR 😂 That's like 67 days away. Long story as to why we've decided this, but does anyone have any super last minute tips on planning? We've got a few venues kind of narrowed down, we have the wedding party planned, we have what qe're wearing, and we have a super duper tight budget (like... $3000 ??) 🤪

A small guest list will be your friend and will open up a lot of non-typical venues that might be available. Start looking at restaurants that cater. They'll be far more inexpensive than a typical caterer. Look at tiered cakes at Sam's - they are around $70.

Agreed with all of these. Planning in such a short time period will be very difficult, but possible. You will need to be okay with having limited options and not getting your first pick on most vendors. Some of your guests may also have commitments that far out.

Luckily I didnt choose one particular venue I 'had to have.' 😅 So far, venues are mostly cleared for the day, which is great. And whatever catering we get, it's alright if some of the friends can't come (the family who we invite will most likely be able to. Yay!) because less people = less $$$! 😂 We're pretty easygoing people... so far 😜

Hi Sam! Congrats on your engagement and welcome to WeddingWire! I am glad venues are available and that you're so easy going! Smiley heart

Have you toured any of the venues yet or narrowed any down?

Some of your venues might have preferred-list vendors/caterers at their venue already, to help in your budgeting & alleviate some of the last-minute vendor booking process. Definitely worth asking about! Smiley smile Happy Wedding planning!

Thank you! We're beginning to narrow venues down and then we will fighte out catering (as we see some come with their own potentially cheaper catering options). We've also just had to back the date up a week due to some forgotten circumstances 😅 oh well. More time to plan I guess!

Book your venue first. Then SUPER quickly after, get important vendors (photography, officiant, caterer, DJ). Then get invites out ASAP (like 60 days prior, so in a week). Then I'd focus on other vendors, baker, videographer, hair & makeup, transportation. Quite a few will be booked so send out lots of emails to vendors.
