Short Bride Tall Bridesmaids?

You can request that they wear any flats but if you require a specific shoe you should buy it.

I'm much shorter than my bridesmaids too and I'm requesting that they wear flat sandals so I look like a normal height haha.

I was in the same boat. I requested they all wear flats and they were all excited about it! I didn't require a specific shoe or color, just whatever they felt matched the dress.

You realize heels sink into grass right? Also, your post makes it seems like your BMs are props, not friends. Who cares if you are shorter than them on your wedding day.

I'm 5'3, my MOH is 5'10, along with another bridesmaid. The shortest bridesmaid I'll have is 5'6. I think I'll just tell them they can choose whatever shoe as long as it's a certain color.

You could always wear stilts.

I am 5'1 and my 4 BM are between 5'5 - 5'11. I didn't care, they wore whatever they wanted to. I was the MOH for my 5'11 friend who on top of being tall wore 4 in. heels for her wedding. I felt like a midget but again it didn't matter lol

I would ask that they were heels if that's what will make you comfortable. I don't know why you can't ask them.

I'm also short, only 5ft. I don't think it's rude at all to request they wear flats. They may be happy about it anyway, so their feet don't hurt all day. However, like Lindsey said, if it's a specific shoe, you should offer to buy it for them.

Fellow smidge here and fully embracing my shortness. myself and the entire bridal party (FH and GMs included) will be wearing vans.

If it were reversed and you forced them to wear heels, I would have more of an issue with it. I can't wear/walk in heels . but you could definitely pose for some formal pictures with them where height is taken out of the picture so you stand and they are in sitting in chairs.

I'm also the shortest of my friends. But it's who I am. I'm wearing flats on my wedding day. I understand if you are self conscious about your height, but truly, I'd just roll with it.

TBH yes I think you're being a little bit crazy to request they wear flats. They should be able to wear whatever they are comfortable in. You'll stand out anyway you're the bride. No one is going to think any less of you because you're shorter.

I'm 5'2" and all but one of my BMs is 5'6" or taller. We are all wearing boots. I don't think the height really make a difference. You'll be in a wedding dress, you won't look like a child. Yes you can ask them to wear flats if you want, but don't over think it all

I woudln't say it's bridezillla, but do you really want to worry about that kind of thing? You will outshine your bridesmaids just by being the bride! People arent' going to expect you to grow or your friends to shrink by your wedding day to make you the center of focus.

I have a friend who is 4'3", her bridesmades were all 5'+. No one noticed their shoes. All eyes were on her.

I'm 5'10, my MOH is 5'2, would I make her wear heels so I don't feel like a Giant? No.

Let people wear what they're comfortable in, and not everyone's comfortable in flats, nor do they look good with every dress. If you're worried about how height will look in photos talk to your photographer about some of the shots.

My side goes me (4'11"), my MOH (4'11"), two bridesmaids (5'2" and 5'11") and a bridesman (5'11"). Pictures are going to be fun haha

ETA: I'm buying their shoes as one of their gifts, so they'll all be the same height of shoe (except for my bridesman...he's on his own)

Honestly if it's in the grass and you suggest that they wear flats, they'll probably wear flats. I hate when my heels get stuck in the grass!

I keep telling my MOH if she's taller then me by the wedding she's wearing flats. She's my almost 13 year old daughter.
