Shop Rite for Flowers?

Jane38, on March 24, 2017 at 2:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

Hey brides and grooms!!

So I'm still trying to trim trim trim my budget along with saving as much as possible in the next year and a half. I'm excited to say we just put down our DJ deposit today - soooo happy! Now all that's left as far as major vendors is a shuttle bus and a florist. All of the local flower shops around me have been quoting me $2k and up! I haven't asked my BP yet, but we are hoping to have bouquets for 5 BMs and bouts for 5 GMs. No centerpieces but two flower arrangements behind us during the ceremony and also bouts/corsages for about 8 family members.

So my question is... Has anyone used Shop Rite for their wedding flowers? I can't stand the idea of fake flowers, but I also don't want to give an arm and a leg for flowers that are going to die. The Shop Rite by my venue has 5 stars on WW haha. Thoughts??

There's nothing wrong with using Shoprite, Costco, etc. Give them a call and get a quote.

I don't know about shop-rite...I plan on ordering mine from Sam's Club. They have a selection in one of my colors and deliver to my door. No judgement here...

Melissa - Obviously Shop Rite is going to tell me that Shop Rite does amazing work....

Thanks guys! Amber I have a Costco by me but they didn't have too many options for colors. Maybe I will check the nearest Sam's club, but I'm sure I'll have to pay some kind of deliver fee.

One way you can save BIG TIME on flowers is supplying your own vases. Ikea, Big Lots and Dollar store are great places to buy matching vases, if you want that look. Or you could go mix-match with whatever you have in your closet now. We got our flower bill under $1k by supplying our own vases.

This is going to be a case where every store is going to supply a different quality of service based on who is working there, and in no case will it be as creative as a florist who depends on their reputation. I have seen two weddings done by grocery stores, and they were very pedestrian.

@Jane we didn't go with them because they don't deliver but their work and flowers are amazing

For that whole thing it was only $40! Like I couldn't even have flowers delivered for that price.

I went to a bridal expo and stop and shop florist was there. The bouquets were stunning. All colors. & styles.

They just don't deliver in Ct so that's why we didn't choose them.

But I would say go for it. No need to spend 3K on flowers.
