Shoes

EmeraldBride, on March 16, 2021 at 12:06 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

So to preface this - I have an emerald and diamond ring. My BMs are in dark green dresses and gold jewelry. I am in a white dress and silver jewelry.

Now for my latest predicament, I am trying to figure out my shoes. Should I...

1) Get white shoes like these

2) Get dark green shoes like these in Juniper

3) Get the same shoes as #2 but in the color Petal

Or suggest something else? Keep in mind, our reception is in our backyard. I would really like to wear them for our first dance and then switch to my pink Sperry's after that.

I am truly struggling with this decision. I like them ALL!

I think matching your Brides maids would be really cute.

Is your dress floor length? If so, keep in mind:

    - your shoes won’t be visible

    - your dress will be hemmed according to your heel height, so when you change into flats it will be too long and trailing on the floor..

Both those shoes are cute, but if you want to end up in flats it might make most sense just to wear flats the entire time.

Agree with Liz. Your dress length will be hemmed to the shoes you bring in. Honestly, nobody is going to see your shoes if your dress is floor length. I’m going for comfort- bought a pair of white Nikes & light gray satin shoelaces.

    I'd choose the white shoes.

Wear whatever shoes you want. Unless your dress is short, no one will see them.

Yes, my dress is floor length. Does it matter that the bottom is a fit and flare silhouette with stretch crepe - like this (not my dress, but similar)? My Sperry shoes have about a 1" heel. Does the 1.75" heel difference truly make that big of a difference in dress length?

If wearing my Sperry's the entire time, my biggest concern is dancing the first dance in them. We MIGHT do a choreographed dance and there are some parts that require a little bit moving and some small lifts... so I worry the Sperry's will not slide as nicely across the dance floor. Does that make sense? I am probably overthinking this and it probably will be fine. I honestly would be most comfortable in Sperry's.
