Shoes

Jasmine, on February 9, 2021 at 6:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I'm having a hard time with shoes. I will be doing some hiking and walking for the wedding and really all day and I want something that looks nice but also is supportive for walking around in all day. Anyone have recommendations?

I’m going for comfort & wearing white Nikes. I bought mine at Penney’s & bought some gray satin shoe laces on Amazon.

    Dear Jasmine,

If your skirt is large enough, I would suggest wearing nice boots. I’m wearing some platforms from Dolls Kill. They’re covered in rhinestones and are very “Desperately Seeking Susan.” I made this decision because I needed a shoe that I could wear a nice comfy, warm sock in. They also add quite a bit of height but are pretty sturdy. You can always opt for silk socks if you need something breathable and thin to wear with the shoes, too!
Anyways, that’s just the route I went in! You won’t be able to see the shoes under the dress anyway, so I had a lot of options. I hope this helps a bit and am excited to see what your final decision is!

Can you change your shoes? Maybe wear something more comfortable for the walking and then fancier when you are taking photos or not hiking around? You could always do the Keds shoes that are sparkly, I see those quite a bit.

    Dear Rebelle,

Thank you! They're secure yet lined with this silky smooth and soft almost plush surface. I needed to add a little "edge" to my very traditional dress. I'm hoping to wear Vivienne Westwood earrings as well, as some of her pearl-drop earrings look somewhat traditional but have a bit of fun, too!

Boots aren't a great option for a dress that doesn't have a full skirt or in the heat, though. In that case I would honestly suggest a secure platform with a square heel. They add SO MUCH stability and since they're getting more popular again; there are tons of cute styles to choose from! The reason I suggest platform when going for heels is that the actual platform of the shoe in between the sole of your foot and the ground will always add extra cushioning, even if it isn't a particularly comfortable shoe. Another tip would be to look for thick straps, because they add stability and aren't as strenuous on your ankles, etc.

Ivory-Colored Sparkly Heels - These have thick straps, a square heel and a comfy looking platform.

Pink Heels w/ Bow - These are actually heel, heels (lol). However, they looked super comfortable and the straps going around several supports in your foot would help with comfortable (as long as you're not walking in any grass)!

"Vegan" Leather All-White Platforms - All white, square heel, closed toe platforms. I might actually want to wear a sheer sock that has "frills" above the ankle with this one, though...

Anyway, I hope that everyone has fun planning! There are a ton of other shoes on this website, you just kind of have to sort through the rave shoes; which is fun, too!Smiley xd Smiley smile
