Shoes for March Wedding! Help!!!

Jamie, on July 4, 2019 at 8:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

My wedding is March 7 and I am beginning to think about shoes because my dress place told me I NEED to bring my shoes for my first fitting, which I get. But being that I am getting married in March, I am having some difficulty deciding on what KIND of shoes. (They will be flat! I am 6', FH is 5'4. I was never a heels girl anyway). Should I chance it will be cold and go with a closed toe shoe or should I go with a sandal and pray for an early spring?

I would go with closed shoes, considering your location, but that's just me

You should still have time to choose. I wouldn’t think you would need to go to your first fitting until January.
If it’s just picking up your dress after ordering and trying it on, you don’t NEED your shoes.
Unless tour wedding is outside, I don’t think closed vs open will make too much of a difference. I got married in January, inside wedding, and actually just walked around barefoot after the ceremony (i lost my flip flops) and my feet were fine.

Most boutique would say to bring the shoes if you’re doing heels for the length when they do alteration. Most flats are just all about the same so I wouldn’t worry about that as you don’t need it. As far as style I say it depends on your dress and venue. I think close might be a safe one and even more elegant but there’s some open flats out there that are beautiful.

My wedding is March 7th as well! I decided on High top Vans so that I am comfortable. You might want to look into either flats, converse shoes, keds or toms. Those shoes are all relatively flat and wouldn’t give you too much height. As for open or closed toed, March weather isn’t guaranteed, so I would do closed toed. But I guess it depends on if you wedding is indoor or outdoor.

I got my dress at the same boutique. I am wearing flat sandals. When I showed her the shoes, she told me I didn't even have to put them on, so I wouldn't stress. And as someone else said, you don't need to go in for your 1st fitting until about 3 months out. My wedding is July 20th and my first fitting was May 15th.

Not quite. I have a pair of sandals I found that I love but I'm also thinking of a pair of Toms. Decisions are hard!

You could definitely have the best of both if you wanted! You could wear the sandals that you love for your ceremony and photographs and then later in the evening, once your feet are getting a bit tired, put on your Toms!
