Shoes for dress shopping

I wore wedges. Same type shoe I'm wearing with my dress.

I think I wore boots (it was snowing). Two of the places I went to had heels for me to try on with the dresses which I definitely think helped me feel more complete. One place, the girl said it didn't matter, they'd still be too long and I wouldn't see them anyway but walking around in socks made it harder to imagine, even though no one could see them.

I had heels on thinking I would have them on while trying on dresses. But in reality I was barefoot the whole time because I was putting dresses on, walking in these really long dresses that would have been a disaster if I had heels on, and taking them off. That was my experience though

It was hot as hell - I wore flip flops and no shoes when trying on. Both places tried to offer me heels but I'm wearing flats and very politely, yet firmly, declined the heels. It was definitely the best decision I made, to not wear shoes trying on dresses.

Wear comfy shoes to walk around in and bring your wedding shoes or shoes with the same heel height with you to put on with the dress. I wore uncomfortable shoes my first time out, just going to 2 stores, and I really regretted it.

All of the salons I went into asked guests to remove their shoes. Doesn't sound like this is the norm everywhere but I didn't have shoes on while trying on dresses.

I didn't wear shoes while trying on dresses. You only need to have the right shoes for your appointments with your seamstress when you're getting it hemned

I'm wearing flats. So I didn't wear any. Easy peasy

Something comfy. I wasn't wearing shoes for trying on dresses, I just have to find shoes before my first fitting.

I brought heels with me dress shopping but everyone told me not to worry about it until alterations. Apparently sample dresses almost always need to be clipped or pulled in some way so to add trying to wrangle shoes into the mix; it's just easier to go barefoot.
