Shoes for beach wedding?

Tina, on January 27, 2021 at 5:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Hi all! I'm looking for advice on wedding shoes! My ceremony will be taking place on a beach and I'm torn over what to wear.. is barefoot a bad idea? Should I just go with a flat sandal? I was thinking of possibly bringing a heel for my first dance since my fiancé is 6'7", but I can't see walking down the aisle in sand in heels. What do you recommend? If you had a beach wedding, what did you wear for shoes?

Thank you in advance!

You could wear wedges or shoes with a block heel- but barefoot is totally normal for beach weddings! I don't see anything wrong with wearing shoes at the reception/first dance but going barefoot for the ceremony, it'd probably be more comfortable with the sand

Walking on sand in shoes is next to impossible so most go barefoot

I wore sneakers for my beach ceremony, hah. But my beach had some rocks and such on it, I was worried I’d step on something uncomfortable if I was barefoot. On a nice sandy beach barefoot is okay, just make sure the sand isn’t too hot! Some sand can burn my feet.

I know people who would just go barefoot if the sand isn’t too hot. I have actually looked into a beach wedding and considered getting these from Etsy Shoes for beach wedding? 1

Definitely not heels. I’d go either barefoot or tennis. With sandals, you run the risk of the sand getting between your toes.

I got married on the beach and went bare foot for the ceremony and then wore block heels for my reception. It’s nit easy to walk in shoes in the sand.

If it’s not too hot, barefoot. But I had a baddddd experience with barefoot and injured my feet on the beach. I will go barefoot after my wedding, but not before or during. It was too painful for a while, and I couldn’t really enjoy my stay that time. I bought espadrilles for my bridesmaids, and their soles are wide enough and easy enough to walk on sand.

I would do barefoot or sandals for the ceremony. My wedding will be on the grass, but near the beach. I'm wearing these. https://us.havaianas.com/womens-sandals/slim-crystal-glamour-sandal-rose-gold/rose-gold-metallic.html

Thanks all for the responses! Sounds like barefoot or barefoot sandals are the way to go for ceremony. I hadn't thought about the sand being too hot so I'll definitely keep that in mind though as it gets closer!

I’m going barefoot for my ceremony and have block heels for reception. I’ll probably only wear heels for a few pictures and a dance but then I’ll put my flip flops on.

Make sure that you think about this when you get your dress hemmed. You don't want your hem made for heels.
