Shoe Struggles

I really like heels. I don’t get to wear them as often as I’d like to, but I love how they look on me and my FH finds them sexy. The problem is, he’s 5’8” and I’m 5’5.5” he usually doesn’t care that I’m taller than him when I wear heels (I usually wear about 4” heels) but he mentioned his height when I was talking about shoes to wear.
It seems like he’s uncomfortable with me wearing shoes that will make me taller than him on our wedding day, which I do understand. He’s not malicious about it.
HOWEVER, the only shoes I seem to find that I like are around my usual 4” heel height. I haven’t liked anything that I’ve seen that is lower D: I don’t know what to do.

What type of heels are your style? If you found similar ones that were just shorter, do you think you would like them?

I mostly find myself drawn to shoes like these, they have solid straps, they're secure, and I've tried them on and they're comfortable. I haven't found anything like them with a lower heel that I like. They all seem so old to me, I don't know.

Will you be able to see your shoes with your dress? If not, it may not matter so much what they look like, just how comfortable they are the smaller heel size. I would just google 2" or 3" bridal heels and see what you can find!

I just ordered these from Sam Edelman. I have the same issue with height, I’m just a few inches shorter. Haven’t gotten these yet, but I have a ton of other block heels and they’re super comfortable.

These are from DSW, it’s nice because you can look for shoes based on heel height and I found them A LOT cheaper than other stores. My shoes retailed around $250 most places, then I saw them at DSW on sale for $60.

My dress is a floor length ball gown, so the only person who will know what my shoes look like, but I want to be able to wear them after the wedding for other events. I'm just struggling to find shoes with a lower heel that I personally think are attractive to look at. I'm starting to think I should just bite the bullet and get shoes that I don't like and just wear them for the wedding and never again.

I can totally relate. I'm having trouble deciding on shoes. I'm 5'9" and my FH is 6'. I love heels and he loves when I wear them and doesn't mind the height. We usually are about the same height. But we are planning on a beach ceremony so I'm planning on wearing flip flops but can't decide whether to get heels or cute sandals or wedges for the reception. Heels go better with my dress and theme but still unsure.

Remind him that his shoes will also have some height in them from the sole, so even with heels you’ll probably just be about the same height. Also, if you’re not planning on wearing the heels all night and will be switching to flats to dance in, I would totally go with whatever you want to have your formal pictures in. Honestly, when you’re close in height no one really notices but the couple themselves.

Y’all. I’m wearing some nice brand new converse tennis shoes. I put some pearls on them. And am using white satin ribbon for the laces. They look nice. Plus I’ll be able to wear them more than just my wedding day. I’m a major klutz and absolutely cannot wear heels 👠 . And honestly never even wear dressy shoes. My dress is a ball gown so I figured why not go for comfortable and practical since I’m spending money on them? 🤷🏼‍♀️

He can wear lifts? I know they have nice ones out that don’t look like lifts now...
