Shoe size

Heather, on June 14, 2023 at 3:41 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I went in today to pick up my dress. While I tried it on, I thought it would be best to look for a pair of shoes. I'm against heels as I've had 3 knee surgeries. So I settled on a pair of wedges, come to find out they only had a size 10 in store(way too big, my sneaker size is between 9.5 & 10), a 9.5 wouldn't come in until after the event & a 9 would come in 5 days before leaving for our vow renewal. So I decided against it. I'm curious if there's any possibility a size 9 would fit? In the size 10 I had some room in the back, they'd nothing can possibly be fine to help that much, but . Inserts out anything) I can't find anything online & I'm starting to freak out a bit. What would be my best move? I've checked Etsy, Ebay & Amazon.

If you’re typically a 9.5 or a 10, I wouldn’t assume you would fit in a 9. Have you tried stores like DSW or department stores like Macys and such? The shoes don’t have to be “wedding” shoes or even white. I wore a pair of sparkly rose gold flat sandals. And I’ve worn them since then because they’ve worked with other outfits.

For our wedding in 08, I wore a size 8.5 in heels.
I have an ivory dress. I looked at multiple ivory shoes in store. They looked beautiful but with the dress, horrible. We no longer have a Macy's here. It was replaced with a fitness center a few years ago. I'm not even sure if there is a DSW near me. I'll have to check. We don't have many stores like that here. Stores near by with some shoes for example would be Walmart, Target & JcPennys. I'm going to have to Google lol. Thanks for the advice💙

Can you purchase a pair of shoes from online? They make bridal sneakers. Etsy has tons of "custom" white nike shoes for brides.
Jcpenny by me usually has sparkly silver shoes if you haven't tried there.

When you said you went to pick up your dress, do you mean from final alterations, or does it still need alterations?

I can. I don't have my alteration appointment until the 27th.
I tried a pair on at DB that were ivory & sparkly. I loved them but with my dress that was a huge no lol. They were cute though. I didn't know there were custom Nike sneakers on Etsy for brides. I'll look into that. Thank you! I thought silver would look good with it. It could very well be that the ones I tried on at DB, were not the style that would go with my dress.
I'll go out to see what they have at JCP.

I got ivory keds for my ivory dress and they look fine together. So it may have just been the shoes and lighting there.

Glad your alterations aren't done I thought you were getting your shoes after alterations and my heart skipped a beat 😅

I would also start going out to whatever stores you have in town to look in person. If you order the 9s that aren’t coming in until 5 days before your vow renewal, that’s going to be a mad scramble to find something else at the last minute and you won’t have them during alterations. Definitely just go find something else now. Amazon also has an insane number of shoes. Just start ordering anything and everything that might work that has free returns.

I didn't know what they were. Lol. I had to Google🤣 And I was like oh yeah. Lol. I always thought they'd look good with a pair of my Jennings. So I've seen the shoe before just didn't know the name of them lol.

I'm just in a bit of a rush bc I have less than 2 weeks until then. But I'm going out tomorrow to check out multiple stores & I'm just carrying my dress around with me lol. To make sure it looks good.

I'm doing that tomorrow. Indeed it would. I feel stressed enough, I do not want to be freaking out they soon before leaving.

Always shop for shoes locally in person where you can try them on before you buy. That way you can tell what fits and what doesn’t because a size 7 for example by one shoe designer will not fit the same way that another company’s size 7 does. It will be too big, too small, too wide, too narrow and the list goes on.

Sounds like you're in a bit of a shoe pickle. With your knee history, it's wise to steer clear of heels. As for those wedges, size 10 seems way too big. If you had room in the back with the 10, a size 9 might just do the trick.
