I plan on doing it at mine. I think it's cute. Also, we're not doing the garter or bouquet toss, so I figured it wouldn't be too much.

Most of the weddings I’ve seen it at it tends to be a buzz killer for the dance floor afterwards.

I think it’s a wonderful idea! I’m looking to incorporate it during my rehearsal dinner or even engagement party that I have yet to plan! It all depends on your reception and how you think your guests would react. It’s a game you’d want everyone to pay attention to, but also not get bored at your reception.

No, maybe not at the reception. If at all, do it at your rehearsal dinner (it fits better at that event). I’ve seen it at weddings a few times and it was an odd game in the middle of the reception that didn’t keep guests’ attention after a while.

I believe FH and I will play it! It’s a fun thing and one of the few traditions I would like to incorporate

I'm thinking of doing it as a replacement for the garter and boquet toss

That's my thought as well. Most weddings I attend don't do games at the reception - it's more of a shower/party thing - but the ones that I have attended that have stuff like this, it tends to really dull the mood and the dance floor is almost deserted for a while after.

We plan on doing this game! Depending on what questions are asked there can be a lot of laughs involved with this game which I love! Plus it doesn't have to take long, I think ours is only going to last 20 min or so and then the dance floor will be opened since we will already be out there and will just remove the chairs quick. So to me I think its a good icebreaker to get people out on the dance floor once the game is finished since we are not doing any tosses of a garter or bouquet.

I’ve never seen it in person but from the people who have, my friends all tell me they love it. I’m doing it at my wedding! We’re using it to break up the dancing a bit I think because I know I’m not going to want to dance all night - just not our thing.

20 minutes??? That is a really long time. Anything more than 5-6 minutes is pretty excessive, IMO. 20 minutes would mean you were going close to 100 questions...that is a ton.

Yes,whenever games or similar activities start, lots of people switch off for the evening. For showers, or for teen parties, games as a group are okay. Not for weddings . Far fewer will dance, and more will leave early.

Not really. Think each question could take up to a minute between the person speaking the question, bride and groom answering, and then the reaction from the guests. So if the game was only played for 5 minutes that's only 5 questions. At least 10-15 questions should be asked to make the game worth it. I said 20 mins on the high side but definitely more than 5 mins is needed.

I'd skip it. As others have said, it's a buzz kill. If I was told to get off the dance floor because that game was starting, I'd most likely go to the bar and chat with friends instead of watching the game. Honestly, most guests don't care who is messier or who is the better cook.
