Shoe color for gold dresses???

Are the dresses long or short? With long dresses, no one will see them. With short dresses, people will notice for all of 2 seconds and their attention drawn elsewhere.


I would go with a neutral such as black or very light gold. “Nude” shoes are a personal taste and not everyone finds them flattering if they own them at all, so asking someone to purchase them for one time use is not the best way to spend their money as they are expensive.

I have worn a long gold BM dress twice. In the first wedding, we all wore nude shoes and they worked perfectly! Nude shoes tend to “disappear” and not be noticed. I feel like everyone should have a nude shoe in their closet anyway, as they are so universal and elongate the leg line- so I wouldn’t feel bad asking anyone to purchase a nude shoe. In the second wedding, the bride gave us the choice between nude or gold, so I just wore the same nude shoes I wore in the previous wedding. Some of the other girls wore gold shoes, and those looked great also!

Here are some photos for reference. I have included nude and gold shoe options with gold colored dresses. They tend to be the ones that blend in with the dress more seamlessly. Which is my personal taste. However, if you were looking for something more high contrast, I also included a photo of a gold dress with black shoes. That would only be an option if you really wanted the shoes to stand out, instead of blend in.

I'd go with gold, champagne (like a softer, less bold gold), or nude (to match the color of your bridesmaids skintone) shoes. Personally once you find a good flesh-toned shoe you can wear it with anything.

Another vote for nude or gold! The problem with gold is making sure it is the same tone as the gold of the dress, which might be tricky.

Nude, black, or even silver or white shoes would be colors I'd recommend to pair with gold dresses!
