Shoe advice 1
I plan to have the girls in this color for their dresses but I was thinking about the shoe color.

What do ya'll think about champagne color satin shoes?

Could you post a picture? When I Google that color, the models seem to be wearing nude or silver shoes so I'd imagine another metallic would be fine.

I'm always team nude for bridesmaid's shoes. Most already have a nude heel and it's always a color that can be worn again.

I feel like champagne colored satin shoes would be hard to find. Can you just specify either silver, nude, or gold? That would give them far more options.

I think silver or nude would be the way to go - then they can be worn again

I’m doing a similar color to that. My girls are all wearing silver shoes.

Heels are not a must but gladiator shoes are a no.

I'm currently figuring out how to tell my bridesmaid that her gladiator shoes are a no because she told me she refuses to wear heels.

If all the gowns are floor length, I’d just specify nude so your bridesmaid can wear something out of their closet or find something easily at a store.

I mean there's a long way and a lot of options between gladiator shoes and heels. Just tell her you want final say over any shoes and specify dress shoes. I probably wouldn't specify satin - they're hard to keep clean, people won't wear them again, etc.

One of my bridesmaids wants a side slit up to her thigh 🙄

My other one likes this dress.

I've been able to find them pretty easily. I just don't want the shiney shoe look.

Nude isn't that much different than champagne so I would be open to that color.

I assume your concern with the slit is that it won't look tasteful, but as someone who was just a bridesmaid in an outdoor ceremony in June with absolutely no breeze and full humidity, I would have killed for a slit! I would suggest you just mention to your photographer if you're worried about her sticking out in photos and they can make sure she isn't popping her leg out in a way that's different from other girls. I actually like the look of some slit/some full dresses in bridal party pics as it gives some visual interest! Just here to say that given your August wedding, depending on where you're located, it's probably going to be hot and I'm in defense of the slit Smiley smile Also my wedding dress has one so I may be biased! I also think nude shoes will look great, won't require most people to buy new ones, and can be used again. Love the dresses you picked!

    Hi Olivia!

I hadn't thought of that as a reason. It was mainly for photo reasons because they have very large tattoos on their legs which I think would distract in the photos. They want a slit and gladiator sandels. I'm trying to not sound bossy about what I envisioned as well.
Thank you! Only one of my bridesmaids will be wearing that dress, which I offered to buy them and then they are only responsible for alterations and their shoes. But I'm still hunting for another dress that is the same color for my other bridesmaid but has more sizes offered.
I originally wanted to do an olive green but one of my bridesmaids disapproved so I changed the color. I really am in love with this color 😍
Yes, our wedding will be at the end of August. It's usually low 80s high 70s around the last week of August. But there are those years it could be high 80s.
    I really appreciate your suggestions!

Me too! I'm prefer that color but if they can only find a nude, I'll be okay with that (depending on the shoe)

Lol I feel you on the gladiator sandals...hopefully she can find some nude flat sandal or something that is a compromise for both of you.

    Maybe something like this?

    https://www.tedbaker.com/us/Womens/Shoes/Sandals/SHEAHH-Leather-Flat-Strappy-Sandal-NUDE/p/252977-NUDE?cmpid=ppc~google~PLA~smart_shopping_us_en_ww_low_margin~116094802063~252977-NUDE-355~na~na~US&gclid=CjwKCAjwx8iIBhBwEiwA2quaqzHExD_AVf-h-yBpg9SeKVfpTLtHVRge9ZjzqBj2KduDmxdTlpi_rhoCzBQQAvD_BwE

I can also understand the tattoos being distracting in photos, I would feel the same, but I think you could be tactful about it and just tell your photographer to direct her (and everyone so she isn't singled out) how to stand so it's not so obvious. Maybe even have your bridesmaids line up on the side where it wouldn't be visible. Just my two cents Smiley smile

Hmm I’ve never had a difficult time finding champagne/ivory formal shoes online or by in stores. I’ve found nude to be more difficult to locate actually. But silver is more likely to be worn again. Honestly unless the dresses are short, no one will notice or care what color they are.
