Shed a tear for me

Shed a tear for me 1
My dream dress doesn’t fit anymore and they don’t carry it in my new size. Resizing will cost more than the dress, so I have to get a different one. Trying not to cry. It was perfect

Oh-no! Sorry to hear Victoria. It’s a beautiful dress. Have you looked into a local seamstress? It might be cheaper.

I would talk to a different seamstress. That dress looks as though it would be super easy to put a corset into the back. A corset back will give you a good 2-3 sizes up!

Oh no that's such a bummer. I am really sorry that happened, I hope either you can find a seamstress who can tackle it affordably or you find a dress you love even more. All the best to you!

I’m sorry to hear that. When is your wedding? Will you have enough time to find another dress?

My problem is I went down 4 sizes. I thought taking it in would be cheaper than letting it out

It’s in 2 months so hopefully I will find something but I think I’ll have to get something off the rack. Its just a dress though. It honestly sucks but I’m sure I’ll find something else soon

I would look at Davids Bridal. They have a lot of dresses on clearance and some will shop within 24 hours. I hope you’re able to find something, but I’m sure you will.

Maybe you could add the lace from your dream dress to a new dress? I'm sorry about your situation. I'm surprised it can't be taken in for a reasonable price.

I don't see why they can't just take it in at the sides. Looks like an easy fix to me.

From the store? Or from a private seamstress?

    That seems extremely high!

I think you should considering paying for the alterations, even though it is pricey. If you find another dress that you love, what are the chances that it will need zero alterations?

Most places charge a “flat fee” for a bridal gown. I know it’s more expensive than you paid for the actual dress which sounds absurd haha but it sounds like the going rate (actually low for my area, my flat fee was $550. I paid $400 for my dress)

Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
