Sharing Pro photos with guests

Chandra, on June 10, 2019 at 10:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
How have people handled sharing the professional photos with their guests?
My mom mentioned putting them on our wedding website and resharing the link in the thank you notes.
That got me thinking, I could just include the smugmug link if guests want to buy the photos of themselves and they could see the day start to finish?
Thoughts? Ideas?
I was going to share an album of my favorites on Facebook but seeing as most of the guests were on hubby's side and we arent friends, not everybody is going to see them then!

I would definitely make the photos accessible to your guests. My fiancé and I were at a friends wedding a while back and there was an amazing photo snapped of the two of us dancing. We got the low res photo but wanted to have it printed. After weeks and weeks our friend finally gave us the photographers name and contact info and we paid for the photo. It would have been nice if it was all on her site! Hope that helps ☺️

This is something you need to discuss with your photographer. You can also check to see if it's in the contract that you signed.

I would just tag your husband that way they all can see the pictures! And from the most I've seen people do, they post the watermarked photos of like the guests dancing/mingling on facebook then if the guests want to purchase them they can ask you directly for how to do that.

I don’t know what all your photos entail but do you want all your guests to have access to all your photos and be able to purchase them? When I married my ex, I had getting ready photos done so there were pictures of me in a button down and short shorts and there were pictures of my mom lacing up my dress where you could see most of my back/bra. Just something to keep in mind before you let that many people access them. Also something to keep in mind is that most people don’t check the wedding website after the wedding is over.

I created a photo album on Facebook with my favorites, and tagged my hubby so all his friends could see them too.
Other than that I made albums for our parents. I don’t even think I showed them the full gallery. I had a couple people ask when i was going to share them all, and i found that to be odd. “They’re OUR wedding photos why do you need them?” In the end I sent the link to my grandparents because they wanted one specific picture and I didn’t feel like looking for it. They had asked when I was going to share them before I had even gotten them back yet.
My aunt, who I barley speak to, called to ask me when I was going to share them. I told her I put some in Facebook and she said no I want pictures I’m in like with grandma 😡the rubber me the wrong way, she wanted the link. I looked through my pictures, found the ones of her and emailed them to her.
My photographer had no problem with me sending the link to family/friends so they can order prints.
sorry it got so long. I think you should do which ever you are most comfortable with. I didn’t want everyone having my professional photos so I didn’t share them all.
