Sharing my make up artist with bridal party?

Lulu, on June 10, 2019 at 4:24 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12
Is it bad that I don’t want to share my make up artist with my bridal party? My make up artist has a signature look that I don’t want on anyone else! But me 😬

Not bad! if you are worried about hurting feelings provide a different makeup artist they can use. Do you think any of your girls even want their makeup professionally done? With everything out on the internet these days, everyone is practically an expert Smiley laugh

Your makeup artist may have a signature look but is he/she incapable of doing regular makeup? Everyone’s complexion and skin is different and should be treated as such.

Any good makeup artist should be able to do different makeup looks. In fact, most bridal makeup looks will look very different from other makeup. Also, if the MUA is coming to you, she will most likely require a minimum to make it worth her while.

My sister in law had her makeup done professionally and everyone else did there’s on their own. We all had the option to have our hair done. I was not offended and think that’s reasonable to do

Let your bridal party use her too. Even though your reasoning is fear of looking the same, the bridesmaids might see it as you thinking that your face is the only one worthy of awesome makeup. Trust me, you are going to stand out on your wedding day. Offer up your artists to the bridesmaids but set some guidelines. If you are going for a pink look then let the bridesmaids know that you'd like them to have muted browns or smoky eyes. I've been pretty lax about what I want mine to look like. I let them pick out dresses that fit their own style (as long as they're all the same color) and then gave them guidelines on hair/makeup. Send them pictures in a group chat and say "here's my hair and makeup inspiration. you guys are free to do whatever look you're comfortable with but please try to look at least a little bit different from these. Trust me, you're going to look fabulous. Let your girls enjoy the same luxury!

I have a tag team of 2 girls doing all my bridesmaids. And my top pick MUA doing me, MOH, and my mom. It’s not out of spite it just made more sense for time (8 bridesmaids) 1 MOH and then me and my mom. That’s 11 faces! But I did of course choose the best one out of the 3 for my self... duhhh!

I think it's a little ridiculous, especially if the girls are paying for their own HAMU. Half the fun of being a bridesmaid, in my opinion, is getting all dressed up & ready with the bride. Of course I'm sharing my HAMU with the bridesmaids & moms. Also, all artists can do several looks if they are truly professionals so all you'd have to do is ask them to not wear the same look.
