Shapewear with satin dress

Maggie, on January 19, 2018 at 8:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I'm not trying to take a bunch of inches off or anything, but I just want to make sure everything is smooth under my dress, so I don't end up with any unflattering shadows in pictures. I have never used shapewear before and there are so many different kinds out there, I don't even know where to begin. Suggestions?

Seriously, came here to ask the same question! I don’t see where anything could be unflattering in this dress!

You look beautiful!! I don't think you need shapewear, but if it's what will make you feel comfortable I would suggest spanx they have three best!😘

I totally get wanting shapewear for a clean line. I have a basic pair I wear under most of my dresses at work and to auditions.

Spanx is the best brand that I'm aware of but you can find basic smoothing shapewear pretty much anywhere, I have a pair of long form ones that come to my mid thigh from Kohls that are Vera Wang or maybe maidenform I think and have lasted me years. I would honestly maybe look for a long line one that is a strapless bra and goes down fairly far for the shape of that dress

along the lines of this but if you can find one with the bra attached at the top it might work best for you with that dress so there are no weird lines underneath I understand you're not trying to sinch anything in so I would try some on and see what you're comfortable in. Your dress shop or seamstress could also make recommendations based on the material

I agree that i dont think you need any - you look gorgeous! but i totally get wanting to make sure the gorgeous shape stays all day. spanx are your best friend. they make some that go from under your bra/attach to your bra to almost your knees - i know kohls and macys usually sell them.

This is the shapewear I used for my dress. My dress was a crepe material and this was freaking perfect, it tucked in the little bit of tummy that I had and made everything seamless and smooth, loved it. I bought it in the nude color. There’s even an opening for potty breaks!

My sister wore a dress nearly identical to that, with no shapewear. Everything she tried on showed underneath it, so she said F it. She had cups sewn in and just wore a very thin, seamless nude thong. You look to be about the same size as her, so IMO, no shapewear needed!
