Hi! I bought my dress a few weeks ago and need some advice. I bought the MWL Archie...I was utterly obsessed with the back of the dress and couldn't get it out of my head after I put it on. I really love the front of the dress too but it is VERY tight, double french crepe and let me tell you...the material has no room for forgiveness. I've been hitting the gym HARD to make sure I look stunning in this dress. However, from the front you can definitely see the outline of my belly button and more of my stomach than I'd like. I told my stylist about these insecurities and she said that shapewear is always an option. I hadn't even thought of that and was so excited that I didn't ask her for any recommendations. I've done some searching on my own but am really struggling. I need something that will hold it all in but is still seamless. I had on lace underwear while shopping and you could see every lacey detail under this dress so seamless is a MUST. It also has an incredibly low back so I can't go with anything too high waisted. I really didn't pick the best dress for shapewear but could use any recommendations you may have. PLS help 😭

    The only thing I can think of that may work is shapeware panties. But I’m not even positive those would work with how low the back of the dress is. The only other suggestion I can think of is to drink lots of water, and have a series of tummy flattening wraps done. Honesty though, I think you look INCREDIBLE in the dress and don’t need to worry about shapewear at all!

    Try Honeylove or Shapermint. Another option is asking a local custom lingerie shop what they suggest.

    First, I think you have the exact perfect body for this style dress! You looks amazing and sexy in it. However, if you are concerned about seeing your belly button or panty lines, could you go with no underwear and use body tape to smooth out your bellybutton area. I don’t remember who, but someone else posted about how they used body tape to flatten their stomach for a low back dress. I’m not sure how to do it but you could try for your next fitting....

    You look gorgeous! This style of dress is amazing. It is one of my favorite wedding dress styles. I'm also looking for some shapewear for myself, someone recommends me Shapellx, but I have not decided and come to find some useful suggestions. My suggestion is that you can choose a shapewear panty or shorts with removable straps. It will flatten your belly. So many shapewear styles online for choosing from, so don't worry, and you will find the one! So excited to find mine... Best luck

    You look absolutely incredible! I’m just about to start wedding dress shopping and the MWL Archie is pretty much my dream dress so I’d love to hear what people suggest. I think you look fantastic without shapewear though. Just out of curiosity, is this the default neckline on the dress, or did you elect for a higher neckline (I’ve seen on the MWL website that they offer a 3cm or 6cm higher option)?

    Hi! I also bought the Archie so I am wondering how you turned out?! I love the gown BUT you see my bellybutton as well. I am going for my first fitting on June 1 and was told to come WITH my shapewear. People had told me to put some type of "putty" in my belly button but that sounds ridiculous and did not even know that was an option. Also, I don't care so much about the top as I can put cups in and I am very flat chested to begin with but I really do want to wear underwear of some sort. Please let me know how you make out. Thanks!!!

    Hi! Sorry for the delayed response, haven't checked in on this post in a while. I did go with the 3 cm option...it felt more low cut in person than the photo shows. It also hasn't come in for alterations so this dress did have some clips and the stylist told me it would fall even lower in the front (which I love).

    I connected with a few girls on Instagram that bought various shapewear and told me they would keep me posted so I will do the same for you!

    How did your fitting go? Did you find anything that worked for you? I read that someone did a cotton ball and taped it over the belly button but that also feels silly. There has to be some shapewear that works with this dress 😫

    I bought this dress too! My wedding is in 4 weeks and I've had so much trouble finding the right underwear to wear underneath! I too have insecurities about my belly button!

    I had my final fitting last week before bringing the dress home and I decided to apply a nipple cover over my belly button (just looks like a sheer sticky dot) and then strap boob tape over the top. it actually worked! I then just wore a pair of nancy ganz seamless underwear. I found the more supportive the shapewear the worse it was. However, i can now see a very slight outline of the underwear around my backside.. I know I'm probably overthinking way too much now but I think I'll try on a pair of seamless shorts as a pose to the panties.
