Shapewear question

Colleen, on March 24, 2021 at 2:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi everyone!
Is it possible to wear black shape wear under a wedding dress? Is that too dark?
My dress is off white/oyster and the cups are sewn in at the top but I want to wear high waisted shape wear on the bottom.

If it's something you already own, I would try it on and take pictures in various lighting to make sure it doesn't show through. If you have to purchase something regardless, I would go with something that matches your skin tone just to be on the safe side.

I really depends on your skintone.
If you have a dark skintone then you should be fine. If you have a lighter skintone then you need lighter shapewear.

I've always read (and taken with a grain of salt) that if you want a white dress to look whiter, you wear black undergarments, which makes sero sense and often they just show through. If that's what you want and it won't show through and be distracting then you do you.

Skin tone has nothing to with undergarments but should be considered for the outerwear.

Skin tone definitely has to do with undergarments; all of us have seen someone's white bra or panties underneath white clothing. Nude, i.e. skin tone matching, doesn't contrast and therefore doesn't show underneath clothing.

I was hoping that I could wear black because it’s sexier overall and I would feel more sexy in it, but I definitely don’t want it to show through. I’ll have to search for prettier shape wear in skin tone colors!
