Shapewear for my dress?

Shapewear for my dress? 1
My dress has a deep cutout at the sides (regular underwear show through) and a crepe skirt that shows every little lump on my stomach. I am wondering if there is any type of shapewear (mainly for the lower body) that would work with this dress. The top is an illusion off the shoulder, so anything with straps also wouldn’t work. Any ideas are welcome Smiley smile

Maybe try something in a Spanx nude material so that way itll look like your skin and no one will really know you're weaaing anything under unless they look really closely (which they wont). Try to get something long enough that it goes atleast to the top of the cut out so it wont be obvious where the shapewear stops and where your skin starts. Other than that, I would say maybe try to get a different, thicker, material sewn into the inside of your dress in the abdominal area so you don't actually have to wear shapewear but the material wont be directly on your stomach. The cut out makes it difficult but I think its definitely a trial and error. Getting a thick material sewed in might be the best option (kind of like how people get sew in bras on some dresses and tops)

Maybe a strapless bodysuit shaper in nude? I would also ask the store where you got the dress too if they have any shapewear.

That could possibly work! The dress also has an illusion back so that rules out anything that comes up high on the back.

You could see if they could alter something to be part of the dress?

I think you need something that either covers the entire cutout in a nude fabric (on the inside) or nothing at all. You have to consider seriously going commando. But if you have something that covers only part of the cutout it will create an odd line and make it noticeable. So I feel it's an all or nothing situation! I would personally go commando lol.

I agree. you may need to wear a thong or string only or go commando. Especially if the back is that low and illusion.

I really think the only option would be to get a nude lining attached to the inside, covering where the illusion cutouts are. Then you’d be free to wear underwear and/or shapewear. I’d definitely talk about it with your seamstress. It’s a beautiful dress & I think if you have a nude liner that matches your skin, it’ll still be as beautiful.
