Shapewear for big bust but smaller body?

Stephanie, on June 17, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Hello,

I'm looking into shapewear because I know I defiantly will need it. I plan to have an open back dress but not the very low back. It will be covered with some lace, I attached pictures of the exact dresses I'm looking at. My issue is I have a VERY large chest 34H to be exact, but I have a large or medium body size. Most of the shapewear products I've seen come in sizes like small, medium, or large. I would need an XXL in the bust portion and a medium or large in the stomach and leg area. I have seen some with actual cup sizing but it only goes up to D or DD.

Does anyone know of any specific sized shapewear brands or stores, and or if you can buy shapewear fitted just to your needs?

If anyone has information please let me know!

TIA!

Gorgeous dress!! Maybe ask your seamstress to add cups so you don't have to worry about any part of a corset or shapewear showing in the back Smiley winking

I think your best bet would be to get two separate things. Probably a long line backless bra and then a spanxs style thing for the lower body. Also the best thing to do would be to go to a specialty lingerie store (whenever trying on clothes is allowed again) because they'll have good recommendations and products. I like Rigby and Peller and I've heard good things about the lingerie department at Nordstrom.

I’d suggest barenecessities.com the WACOAL body shaper goes up to a G and its strapless If you can fit into a G. I’m typically a DDD with a small torso but their DD does work for me. My breasts are ‘enhanced’ lol so its hard to find shapewear where you can pick the right torso size to go with breast size. I believe their site also goes up to H for some of their shapewear. You can also go for the separate strapless bra with separate bodyshaper but I know sometimes the girls get out of hand for me with just strapless and nothing firm below to hold in place. You could also do clear straps. Hope this helps!

Actually scratch the WACOAL I think the back might be too high, but there’s others on there that may be good

I would personally get cups professionally sewn into the dress to help with that. I'm unsure of any shape wear that wouldn't show due to the back. Otherwise, maybe try to purchase separate pieces to fit different body parts? Anywho, such a beautiful dress! Good luck girl!

I thought about that but I also don't want to look "floppy and sloppy" lol

Unfortunately, I was very "blessed" and didn't get any enhancements so they don't have that lift and bounce that altered breasts doSmiley atonished

I'm right there with you, sister. They have "push up" style shaping that will give your girls some lift and hold them where you want them. I have to get that done to my dress, too. I was a G cup before I got pregnant, got up to an H with the babies, then had them reduced to DD. Believe me, I understand!

My first wedding, my grandma was my seamstress and she hand stitched a corset into my dress. Lots of things can be done. You've got this Smiley smile

I have looked at WACOAL and didn't have much luck, I think I'll try Nordstrom and Bare Necessities I've heard good things about them.

And unfortunately, I was very "blessed" and didn't get any enhancements, so sewing in cups may not be the best option for me, without the support from a bra I can look "floppy and sloppy".

    Thanks for the suggestions!!

Yeah, I thought about getting a bra and a separate high waisted piece for the stomach area. I have a fear of rolling with the stomach area. Thanks for the suggestions!

I hear ya and agree. The sew ins don’t give enough support for me either. Good luck

    Wow!

I'm so worried about how large my breasts will grow when I start having kids!

I have been planning a reduction since my teen years and was granted a free "mommy makeover" from my fiance after we have kids.

    I'm counting the days!!

Fellow H cup here! (I'm a 30H). I had to go the custom route and have my seamstress create the bra/shapewear within the dress itself. Cups alone sewn into the dress would not have been enough--the seamstress created large elastic bands (completely hidden) within the dress itself to hold me in place, add extra support, and eliminate bounce. I would recommend going in for a consultation with a reputable seamstress before spending a ton of money on shapewear that may or may not work

Don't stress it Smiley sexy it's AWESOME that your fiance understands your concerns and is planning to help you address them down the road, too.

Yes, getting cups sewed in didn't sound like something I wanted or needed. What you're describing sounds exactly what I need. I really do like the support that a bra gives and not wearing one sounded scary, even strapless bras can be unsupportive at times.

    Thanks!
