Shapermint vs Spanxx vs act of God

What is your preferred item to hold it all in? I keep seeing the Shapermint ads and wondering if they are too good to be true.

I definitely need to be following this thread lol I have some spanx but the dress I picked for myself is going to require at least that. I love this discussion topic so much. I was thinking about this just yesterday afternoon!

I have the same model shapewear (high waisted mid thigh shorts) in spanx and shapermint and I prefer the shapermint one. Neither is great because my waist is so much smaller than my hips and the top slips, but the Shapermint does a better job with the lumps and bumps on my hips and thighs AND was cheaper. So look into it!

Okay, so I got mine last night. The small was TINY. I am 5'2", 120ish, and usually am a small when it comes to shapewear as I have a smaller waist. When I actually put it on, it fit, although it was very constrictive around the bottom of my thighs. I am not sure it would be comfortable after wearing it all day. Also, the waist band did fold over a little, maybe because I actually need a medium. But, the real reason I need shapewear, is to smooth my tummy. I have like a little "doughnut" around my belly button that is visible through my dress. Other shapewear I have tried on fixed that problem but didn't fit other places. This shapewear however was too thin and didn't really help that area when I put my dress on. My butt however, looked FANTASTIC. I might bite the bullet and just spend the extra money on a pair of Spanx, or just try and lose 5 pounds, although I reallllly don't want to as I am a healthy shape and size and don't really need to lose weight.

All in all, if you have a figure hugging dress like mine, I might try something else, especially if you need something for the stomach area. Otherwise, this might be a great option for you.

Have you looked into Ragu? They're available on Amazon (prime) with lots of reviews. Slightly more money than shapemint, but still way less than Spanx and many different support options. I'm not enough of a shapewear person to splurge on Spanx, but I still wanted features (like a hole for peeing)!
