Serving champagne

Joan, on November 22, 2019 at 2:41 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
My daughter is having having a non traditional wedding ot a beautiful river front vacation home. We are having a simple out doors ceremony and the a royal tea. Later that evening we are having a bbq dance. Is it acceptable to serve champagne before the bride and groom's toast? I wanted to serve mimosas and champagne while pics are done following the ceremony and prior to the tea and then at the tea. Thanks!

Why not? It is traditional to toast with champagne but I’ve never heard that it can’t be served before.

I definitely don’t see why not. Keep in mind if you’re buying it not everyone likes champagne, so just remember some of it may go to waste. We weren’t going to have one but our venue supplied it so we’ll be doing that.

Yes I’ve been to several weddings where you get champagne when you walk in while waiting for the bride and groom.

Yes I think that's fine to serve champagne & guests will appreciate it.
