I think sequins can be gorgeous. I'm sure there are options where the sequins are limited on the dress.

The sequins are pretty. But it comes across a confused formality if it's one dress only.

I didn't, but one of my friend's had her maid of honor wear a sequin dress while the other girls wore plain bridesmaids dresses. I think it looked really pretty and helped differentiate her from the bridesmaids.

You could even go with a sequin design dress. That way, it’s not full sequins, but it will still make her stand out.

I wore a sequin dress to my rehearsal. It was itchy. I got a great deal on it around Christmas time from Ross when they had all their holiday attire out 😊

We decided against having a wedding party. But I think a sequins dress is a perfect idea for the MOH. They stand out in more of a special way than just having a different style dress or a different color dress.

I think that look is cute, my 2 MOH were going to wear silver sparkly dresses but we couldn't find too many that they liked. They haven't chose their dresses yet but they will definitely be different than the bridesmaid dresses

That sounds like a great idea but my only concern would be to not have something too sparkly. Those pics that the PP uploaded are great but the sequins overshadow the bride.

I actually agree that full sequin dresses are very eye-catching. Perhaps another way to stand out? Like a different, more sparkly necklace? A fancy hair piece? A long dress if the other BMs have short dresses? A different shade of dress than the other BMs?

I too think the sequined dress stands out more than the bride. However, it’s your choice. There are plenty of them, but the cheaper ones are sooooo scratchy and has sharp edges. I had to cut out quite a few sequins and it was not easy because the sequins are attached to each other. The more expensive one is way better because it has a better layer inside, but it’s still uncomfortable around the arms because my upper-underarms keeps rubbing on the sequins, so I have to control my arms the whole time. Not a dress I want to wear for more than a 2-3 hours, honestly.

I think sequins are beautiful but can be very uncomfortable! What about a dress with a sparkle? sometimes the threads are sparkled...might be a lower level of shine but still beautiful! Or perhaps your sis in satin & others in crepe?

Sequins are horribly scratchy, and demand center stage unless others are in sparkly clubwear.
Try a softer metallic, or a velveteen or velour to stand out. Or a lighter or darker shade in the color family. Or a Jacquard. What material or dress are the others wearing?

If you are concerned with the sequins being too much, you could look into dresses with lace detail on them. That’s what we are doing with my sister’s dress. Everyone has the same dress. Then hers is by the same designer but the top half is a lace overlay to set her apart more than just a different style. I also have her wearing different jewelry pieces. If you are really wanting the sequin look, I do think it will look great with the other dresses.

Try Bella Bridesmaids. They have lots of different styles and colors and should be able to match the sequin dress to other bridesmaid dress options.

I did not do this for my wedding, but I LOVE the idea. Of my 6 bridesmaids, the 3 that are friends will wear dusty rose dresses and the 3 that are family will wear navy blue. I believe family and important members should definitely stand out!
