September Save The Dates

Caroline, on April 1, 2020 at 9:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 3
We’re getting married 9/19/20 and haven’t sent out save the dates. At this point we were just going to skip it and send out the invites in a couple months. I’m wondering if we do have to postpone the wedding (before invites go out) do we send save the dates for the new date? Do we acknowledge the postponement? It’s not like we can send a change the date without having sent out initial save the dates. Any advice/ thoughts would be appreciated!!

Hola date twin!!! 🤗 We sent our save the dates early March and guests still seem excited! I'd honestly say go ahead and send the save the dates because this could blow over by June; I'm hopeful! 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 it's better to have them save the date now just in case we're in the clear and you can send out invites as planned!

I agree. We sent ours in February and listed the rsvp link on the save the dates and guests have been RSVPing even up to this week. I found this helpful because you can keep your guests updated and on any changes, and since have a few guests overseas we sent them the website link to rsvp via text.

I hope this helps, and as a September bride, I completely understand your frustration. Sending positive vibes and happiness your way Smiley smile

    Hi Caroline,

Congrats on your engagement! I'm not sure it's necessary to send out save the dates in either case. If you haven't sent out your wedding invitation and have to postpone, no one will know that your date is changing anyways!

I'm all about saving where I can and I think this is what I would do if I were in your shoes.

    I hope this helps!
    Smiley heart
