September brides - still happening?

Jasmin, on July 14, 2020 at 11:31 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

My wedding is 9/5/20, so excited yet so stressed lol. Wondering what September brides are doing. I'm in WA and outdoor weddings can have up to 100 (for now).

9/5 is my moms birthday! We are still going ahead with our wedding on 9/12. We live in northern Colorado and are having a semi-destination wedding up in the mountains. Our reception venue is limited to fifty (50% capacity), but our ceremony and social hour are outdoors. We’re excited, and trying not to stress too much, but numbers here are looking good so far 🤞🏻.

We were supposed to get married that day as well. Even though our state is open, Wisconsin, it is just unsafe no matter what precautions are taken. For the safety of our family and friends we postponed to next year. Good luck!

I’m 9/6. I have 130ish invited and hoping for 85-100. I did see that my venue (in western NY) has started to hold weddings as of 2 weeks ago, so feeling positive for the most part. Now just running into small issues like should we have the bakery pre-package desserts, how do we do a guest book safely, how to safely feed about 20ish people before our rehearsal dinner (because it’s at 7:30PM and about 40 min outside the city)....stuff like that. Our biggest concern is will my current state (CO) end up on NY’s mandatory quarantine list.

Also getting married 9/5 - here in Kansas City as of today (hah, I feel like we are living day by day) our venue can host up to 50% capacity (they fit 200 and we originally were planning on 75). We are doing everything we can to make it safe - our venue has already installed the extra filtration for better air quality, we have a mask mandate, so people will have to wear masks when not eating or drinking, and we plan to space out the tables as much as possible and only sitting people in familial groups (families, social groups they are currently interacting in) and our buffet is now served by the catering staff and trying to avoid anything that makes people touch any of the same items (guest books, making items individually wrapped, etc.) We are making sure we are letting people know this - so we've updated our website, I plan to send an email a month out (to remind people to RSVP) and then a week out and most importantly reminding people if they are sick, have any symptoms or have been around someone who is sick/tested positive to please stay home, while we wish you could be there, guest safety is first. We are also going to facebook live in a private facebook group for those that cannot attend or don't feel safe attending so they can still be a part of the day - and we will be able to go back and read the comments! Either way - since we have already postponed once we are getting married that day no matter what, whether it's in our venue like we planned or at a park or backyard with our families and friends.

I'm 9/19 in Tennessee. We are moving forward as planned. TN has no restrictions to gathering sizes currently so we haven't made any cuts. The venue is outdoors with a tent for the reception but we are considering having everything outside so that we can spread our tables out enough for the reception. We've added hand sanitizer stations around the venue and are going to keep watching the situation as things change. Our area has just put mandatory masks in place through the beginning of August so we're keeping our fingers crossed and cautiously but optimistically moving forward. Best of luck to everyone! I know we're all just ready to be married and past all this
