September 2020 brides

Check in ladies. What are you all working on? Anyone thinking about postponing? I wasn't until this morning when my FH and I got into an argument about what we would do. We are both on the same page that we are going to get married no matter what on our date. But after that it went downhill, I have put a lot of time and effort into the wedding for September; while we are hopeful we can have the wedding we want. Our plan B is to have a small wedding either at the venue or someplace in our town; my boss offered her house if need be. The the discussion turned to celebrating with my FH's relatives who live in upstate NY who may not be able to make it; my thought was since they already spent money to come here and may not be able to we could go there for a small celebration. Kind of got pissed when my FH asked how I would plan that; my response is I will not put time and effort into it. I just can't do that if we were to have postpone. He took as me not caring about his family's reception. After a heated discussion; we decided we could always have a celebration where we live later. Only thing is we are going to start trying for a family right after the wedding; this has been the plan for a long time. So I'm not quite sure how that would work; since I would rather not be pregnant for the time of the celebration; aka I would like to have wine. I hate this pandemic with every fiber of my being. And now I'm at work overthinking everything. Still holding out hope that we can have the wedding we want to have though!!!

Hi again! Sorry to hear about your argument with your FH. I know times are stressful for everyone right now. I am still not seriously thinking about postponing yet. I think we are going to wait until August to make that call. I still think our weddings are too far out to know. My FH isn't really worried about it, but I can't help but to be anxious. We've talked about a plan and I think we would just postpone to Spring 2021 if we need to. But all of our vendors have recommended not making any moves right now. I am still working on my plans and going through my checklist as if everything were normal.

Btw, I love how positive you have been through this. Whenever I see your posts/comments on other threads, it makes me feel a lot better. So thank you!! Smiley heart

Thank you. This week has really been a downer for me. So trying to stay positive has been more difficult. I think it would be helpful if my FH was working and wasn't at home because I think he also starts to think about things when he is at home. I am just going to keep planning. I checked in with all my vendors yesterday and we are good to go with them for our date in September. I just wish my FH's timing would have been better, like instead of talking about it before heading to work; talk to me about this when I get home.

I totally understand - I have felt the same way for the past few days. I'm sort of a control freak and not being able to have control or certainty right now is not playing well on my mental health haha. I think there's just going to be a lot of ups and downs through this unfortunately. And yeah, I get that. I hate having cliff hanger arguments where you just have to think about it all day. I hope you are able to come to an agreement on an alternative plan. Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

We aren't postponing yet! Our wedding is the 26th of September and we're working on staining and paintings signs at the moment. We also just ordered invites! And we'll be working on our music playlist probably this weekend. We won't postpone unless we absolutely have to and even then we'll just do a very small, intimate ceremony and then debate if we actually want to do a reception later on.

That's kind of the boat I am in. If we can't have the larger wedding we want, we are at 120 guests right now I'm thinking it would be around 100 for actually showing up. I just want to do a small thing and be married. I don't want to do something later, I know my FH does but I just don't.
