Sephora Perfume Sampler

klowry, on April 20, 2017 at 3:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

I have started looking around for a fragrance to wear on my wedding day. Thanks to the forums I found out that Sephora has the sampler sets where you can redeem a full sized bottle. I would love to do that but now I don't know which set to buy!

Any tips from someone who has previously purchased a set? Did you go with the mini bottles, roller balls, or travel sized bottles? Are there any perfumes that you all absolutely love? I'm looking for any recommendations!

Does anyone know if Ulta does something similar?

@katie I was looking at the $65 one but the cheaper roller balls were looking better since I'm on a wedding budget!! Haha. But I do love perfume so I think I'd like the larger sizes.

I got the roller ball one for a work secret santa and it was the greatest thing EVER. I actually love the roller ball size because it gives me the ability to not be stuck on one perfume for too long!

Have you tried one of those new perfume sample monthly clubs. I just googled it for the name, but looks like there are a couple now.

I am a perfume junkie! I have to try to pick either a tried and true or a new fragrance for my wedding??

I am just looking at my make up pinterest board and can't decide on just one look (I'm a make up junkie too...oh hell, I'm a SEPHORA junkie). I can't choose just one make up look or just one perfume! Some days I wear 3 different mascaras because I love them that much!

    @Trish this is so funny!

I never thought of that! I better start planning - FH is allergic to most perfumes so it might take a while to find the right one =\

    What a fun idea!

@Trish; also a perfume junkie, but mostly Jo Malone......and Hermes......

I love the roller ones and the travel sizes so I can slide them in my pocket when I officiate.....

I prefer the sample sized bottles for trying to find new scents, because then you don't have a bunch of full roller ball perfumes that you don't like just taking up space on your vanity.

Sephora will let you go in and take home 3 fragrance samples of your choice for free, each time you go in; just ask. Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom will give you a lot of free samples (I think unlimited maybe? I've left with like 10 from Nordstrom before) of your choice if you just ask. You don't have to buy anything to get the free samples at any of these stores.

I went in and told the employees from all stores I was searching for a special scent for my wedding day and just in search of samples. They were very nice about it and very helpful with recommendations and getting me samples.

It helps if you can tell them fragrances you already wear or like and what type they are (floral, woody, fruity, fresh, etc) and even if you are looking for a specific scent like "I'm looking for something with vanilla notes" or "I'm looking for a white floral perfume, like lily or gardenia" and keywords can also help like "elegant," "sweet," "clean," "sexy," or "subtle". Sephora also has a Fragrance Finder you can do in store or online to find recommendations based on your preferences, which could point you in the direction of which perfumes to smell and get samples of.

@Amanda that is a lot of really helpful info! Maybe I'll go the free sample route and then I can buy whatever size perfume I want. Thanks!

@Erin I'll have to look into those. It seems like there is a monthly subscription to everything these days!

I've been thinking of trying scent bird...it's a monthly subscription thing...I have no idea where to start. I have a lot of subscription boxes that send sample but with scent bird you can pick what you want to try. Hope that helps!
