Separate RSVP for each event

Amruta & Nikhil, on January 25, 2014 at 2:08 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I am an Indian and so obviously will be having a big fat wedding. But not all guests will attend all the events in the 5 day long ceremony. The close family and friends attends the first 2 day events and the rest of the world attends all other events. So, I was wondering if the wedding website has a feature that enables guests to RSVP for each event separately?

I haven't played with it that much but I think so, I think that when I set mine up you could RSVP for both the ceremony and the reception separately.

Yes. You have to create the events in your guest list and and add the guests to it.

I don't have any advice-- I just wanted to say "Congratulations!" on your upcoming wedding, and also extend my sympathy-- I could NOT keep up that energy for 5 days. Ooof! My wedding was 5 hours, and I was *done*!

Anyway, I hope you get some useful suggestions, enjoy your wedding, and have a happy marriage!

I know it can be done because I have seen it done on wedding websites, but I think each guest will still see all events and just click the ones they are RSVPing to.

I am very curious to know what types of events take up a five day wedding though. I wouldn't have the strength, but it sounds amazing!

    Thanks, you all beautiful people!

@Brittany: Yes, I figured it out. I have to make separate list for each event. Time consuming, but worth the trouble!

@mrscountrylace: Yes, i figured it out. Thanks for the help!

@Zoe: Thank you so much! It is gonna be very tiring but at the same time fun-filled.

@Nicole: Each day we have a separate ceremony. Some religious and some social.

This link will give you a rough insight of what happens in an Indian wedding. Although, it is just a rough idea. The traditions and customs go much deep and beyond the scope of this article.

@Amruta, thanks so much for sharing that link! It sounds absolutely beautiful. I wish you all the best. And the Saptapadi is something I may consider incorporating into my ceremony. It really showcases the level of commitment you make to your spouse.

I think you have figured it out in WW, but maybe on your actual RSVP card you could list the events with a line for check mark for each?? This wouldn't work if some people are only invited to certain events.

@Nicole: Glad that you found that link of some value. Thanks for your wishes and wish you the same!

@GameCox: Yes, only some guests are invited to first two ceremonies. Thanks for the input. Smiley smile
