Sendoff dresses?

Alexis, on April 4, 2018 at 12:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
So I've not done this before, and I'm so lost. We're going to the airport immediately following the reception and I don't know if I'm allowed to stay in my dress? Should I change? How do I find another dress that looks nice, but can also be worn more than once? What do you all think? Did you stay in your gowns? How'd you get them home after the honeymoon?

You would bring your traveling outfit to your venue to change into after the reception. Have your mom or someone close to you help you change out of your dress and take it home for you.

Personally I would change into something more comfortable for flying in and give your dress to a friend or relative who lives close by or can drop it off at your house for you. I don't know how big your dress is but I know I wouldn't want to have to lug mine around or worry about it getting ruined on my honeymoon. Just got wander around the mall and find something cute and comfy that you like, it doesn't have to look super 'bridal' or anything unless that's a big deal to you.

There are lots of places that have dresses but I would focus on getting something that is comfortable and travels well, especially if you have a long flight.

I would do the sendoff, get the sweet pictures, say bye to everyone, then go inside and change into something comfortable for travel/leave your dress with someone trustworthy, and then leave for real. You still get the pictures and experience in your wedding dress AND get to travel comfortably. If you really want a send off dress Lulus.com has cute white dresses. It’s where I’ve been looking for rehearsal dinner dress.

I would suggest you both change during reception. I am sure it would not be comfortable in a wedding dress or tux while flying. You want to be comfortable. Give the dress to a family member or MOH. Happy Trails Smiley ring

Ok, but did no one else giggle at the thought of going through security in your wedding dress? All I can picture is them looking at a ball gown hahahahaha.
Anyways, I would definitely change before leaving the reception. I think it would even be cute for your send off pictures to be in your travel clothes. Something unique. Maybe a white tank dress?

I wanted to do our big exit in my actual wedding dress -- so we had our car stop at a nearby hotel, where we and the families and wedding party had stayed the night before. We left my dress and his tux in my parents room and went on to leave for our honeymoon! It worked out very well.

I would definately bring some comfy clothes! Traveling is uncomfortable as is, being in a wedding dress would mean all eyes on you all over the place and I would hate that personally lol
