Sending save the dates... is 7months to late?

Melanie, on December 10, 2018 at 11:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

We are getting married on December 7, 2019 but we haven't done engagement photos yet as we both love the beach and wanted to pictures at the beach. We were hoping to take them in the early spring (March/April) that way we had time to send out by beginning of May. I've had few people tell me that they need to go out now... not sure what to do.

The time range is usually 6-12 months so 7 months is fine.

I think that should be fine... just make sure that you give yourself enough time for the invitations as well...

I have had major issues with the US Post Office... I sent them out 7 weeks ago, in person at the post office. One lady lives 3 houses down from another invitee and STILL has not gotten it! Many people never got their invitations. I have had to call or text people who hadn't RSVPd.

I think that is fine as long as it's not a destination wedding!

I don't think so, as long as your photographer can get the pictures back to you quickly & you can order the save the date quickly.

We are sending ours out in April for our October wedding as well. You don't need to send them out a full year in advance (generally speaking) unless its a destination wedding or you have a lot of people traveling. Is that the case?

Hi! - No it is a local wedding, about 30-40 mins from people in the area.

I think it depends on the turn around time of your photographer. It took a little over a month to get ours back.
I think general guide line is 6 months out for save the dates.
Some people dont even send them out unless you have people from out of state coming.
I think you will be fine.

I'm getting married later this month and I sent mine out in June, for most of my family it's a destination wedding as I live in TX and they live in CA but the ones I knew for sure would come are still able to and everyone else was more of a formality. So its not too late Smiley smile
