Sending out the invites

Jamie, on June 28, 2020 at 8:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hey all! So with everything going on my fiancée wants to send out invites sooner then later. We’re getting married in February 2021. He wants to send them out on August with an rsvp date in sometime November. Is that too much time to give people ?

    1. That’s too much time.
    2. I doubt most people would know 3 months in advance whether they can attend a wedding.

You could send save the dates in August and then send invites in November with a late December/January rsvp date.

Agree with Sarah that is too much time. Definitely send out your save the dates though! I would say mid November at the earliest. You may want them out before the Christmas mail rush. guests should have the invitations 6-8 weeks before the wedding.

Have you considered sending Save The Dates? You could do that now or in the meantime until it’s time to send the actual invitations.

IMPO, that's WAY too much time. Sending Save the Date cards is a good idea, but is a waste of money. Have you considered creating a wedding page on FB? My niece did this for her upcoming wedding (12/2020). Their page is private, so only the guests can see and make comments.

That's way too soon. People may give you an answer for the RSVP, but it likely won't be accurate. Plans change so much last minute that you can't expect people to know that early. I'd send the invites in November, RSVP date about 3-4 weeks before the wedding. If you want to make sure people plan for it in advance, send STDs.

Agree with everyone else, it's way too soon for invitations. You could send the Save The Dates by then, like August-September & then send out the invitations by December. If you send the invitations too early, I doubt people's responses will be accurate, sending them at least a month or so ahead of time will give you a better outcome. I don't know if you have family flying in from other states, so perhaps that's why your FH is trying to rush? If so, set up a website or something to keep people up to date in the meantime.

Way too soon for sure. We're getting married February 2021 also and our guests will be receiving save their save the dates in August. Then we plan on sending the actual invites November/December.

That’s really early. Most of the time invites aren’t sent out until 2 months prior with an rsvp date about a month before. Our wedding is in November and we will be sending the invites out in September.
What precisely was your fiancé worried about?

I Think You Can Send Them Out Whenever You Would Like , And If Needed Check Back Up With People Who Don't RSVP On Time. Theres No Right Or Wrong, Do What You Feel You Should Do.
