Sending New Invites-don’t want to jinx it

Leanne, on July 2, 2020 at 8:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hello all! We postponed our April wedding to September 5, 2020 here in VA.

By the time we postponed in March, we already have received most RSVPs back in the mail. I am preparing to send my new invitations, but I am just so nervous about what could change between now and September.
Virginia just entered phase 3 on July 1, opening social gatherings up to 250 people. Which is wonderful news and I can invite my entire guest list. I just really don’t want to keep planning for the what if’s and back up plans. I’m sure you guys can all relate.
Sidenote, we rebooked our honeymoon to Hawaii for September as well, it looks like that might not happen or we may still be on strict guidelines for that state. I’m just so freaking tired of having to change plans or plan for the worst.

    I understand.
I keep checking the carnival website to make sure our cruise to the Bahamas is still good to go. Well, that and nervously checking the state department site for info on our passports.

We’re getting married in VA as well. November 21st at a local winery. Most of our guests are from other states and my moh was just informing me how much it currently would cost to fly her and her husband to us. It’s insane. I just hope we can safely get the majority of our guests here to celebrate with us. We only invited 60 people to start with.

Im In VA Too. I Think You Should Send Your Invites And Keep Planning As Normal. Things Have Been Good For Us Reopening Wise. I Think You Will Be Fine To Have Your Wedding As Planned.

I would continue as normal, but maybe add a little we are monitoring the Covid situation disclaimer in case things change. You don’t need to make a back up plan yet, but have the final go for it or not date in mind.

Here in MA wedding venues aren't even open and we are in phase 3. I would try to keep positive about it.

We are supposed to go to Maui in mid Sept too which has me stressed a bit. Starting Aug 1 you need a negative COVID test 72 hours before but I feel that just adds so much stress and I don't want to spend all that money in Hawaii if I can't do everything or being looked down upon by the locals. You can always still get married and go on your honeymoon a little later.

We’re in VA too with an 8/9 wedding postponed from May. I sent the invites out on June 29th with a July 17th RSVP. I left a note in there regarding coronavirus and added the link to the wedding website where I talk about what will be done regarding social distancing. If we need to change plans we will text people and update our site accordingly.

I'm so sorry Leanne - I can't imagine how frustrating and stressful this whole process had been for you! Smiley heart

You're doing all you can, so I'd just get in the mail and keep hoping for the best! You can't control what might change after you put them in a mailbox. Just stay informed and flexible!
