Sending Invites with dried flowers?

Krystal, on February 4, 2017 at 1:37 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 3

I'm wondering if anyone out there has sent (or received) letter mail (like wedding invites) with dried flowers in them? I have these springs of dried lavender I was going to put in my wedding invites but then felt worried that would create an issue with USPS. Last thing I want is them get destroyed or not delivered! I've googled it and not had much luck... Does anyone out there have advice?

Mail goes through lots of mechanical processing equipment and I don't think any dried flowers would survive. Any unevenness could cause your envelopes to tear or get stuck in the machines as well

Also, be careful sending flowers. I and my sister are incredibly allergic to lavender. If you sent a dried sprig that got crushed in the mail and I inhaled tiny pieces of it while opening it, I might need an epi-pen and a trip to the ER

I wouldn't do this. Not only will it probably get crushed in the mail, that will create a mess for the recipient- ever get a card with confetti in it? Ughh!

Not to mention allergies like MrsSkiToBe brought up!

Ah... Valid points. I'll just save it for the reception/table spreads then. Damn Pinterest with its picture perfect setting!
