Sending bridesmaid dress by mail

Has anyone had to mail a dress to their bridesmaids? Three of my bridesmaids live out of town and the dress store told me it would be cheaper for me to mail it to them myself since they would charge $20 or $25 per dress. What do you think is the best way to package the dresses and any preferences for carrier service? The dresses are floor length so they may take up a bit of space to ship.

    I mean they would have to steam it anyway so i wouldn't worry about wrinkles! also the dress is beautiful! use those prepaid postal boxes at usps. Smiley smile good luck!

    Just make sure you get tracking info & I’d probably require a signature upon delivery. If the package is under 3lbs USPS is the best deal. I prefer FedEx for packages..but you should be fine if you have tracking.

    Hi Allyson! I love those bridesmaid dresses! I have friends who have had this situation in the past! They all just folded the dress and put it into a soft package to ship, since they were going to have the dresses steamed before the day anyway! This is what the packaging looked like

    I second this. They would have to be steamed anyways, so this would definitely be your cheapest option.

    Flat rate box from FedEx... boxes are bigger than the bbn post office and cheaper.
