Hey everyone. So my wedding is on a Thursday and the ceremony starts at 6pm we have the venue guest time till 1am. Is midnight to late for a send off?

If I'm a guest who's working the next morning, I'd leave by 11:00 PM, at the latest.

If your guests have work the next morning, that'd probably be waaaayyy too late for them.

I was planning on sending out save the dates like way in advance so people can have Friday off

Ultimately it is your wedding and your decision, but not everybody will be able to get that Friday off and would probably have to leave regardless since it is a weekday

I wouldn't take the following day off unless you were a close family member. Theyll likely have to take part of Thursday off too. We aren't doing a send off at all, we're going to be the last people there.

I wouldn't leave my expensive, once in a lifetime party early.... but I don't think midnight is too late.

if you have the venue until 1 and it was 10 or 11 , and you left THAT early I would think it was rude, especially if I asked for that Friday off. (Which I think quite a few people, including your bridal party will probably ask for the next day after your party) I would leave after you left as well, and I think your guests may do the same

Personally I think it's too late for a weekday. Even if some people may be able to get Friday off they might have kids that need to go to school or other such obligations.

I think it is to late but I say ask people who are invited to your wedding what they think. They are the ones who will be there

I had a Thursday wedding. Ceremony at 7pm, and reception until 12:30am, and while most guests stayed until the end, no way I was doing a send-off - even if it was a weekend. It can be a pain to organize, and you're going to interrupt your guests having fun for a photo op. Just party until 1am, and go home.

Also, no matter how early you send STDs (only send them to VIPs), that doesn't mean they will take the Friday off. They just might leave early. FWIW, I sent my STDs 6 months in advance.
