Selling your dress?

Marissa, on June 26, 2019 at 1:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Any rides who bought a dress then had regret and bought another... how’d you advertise your first dress? I’ve posted to FB marketplace and will be posting on preownedweddingdresses.com, but thought maybe I was forgetting something. Tia!

Be sure to say it's never been worn, or "new with tags" when you advertise it for sale. That's important to some people.

I bought mine from a bride on Facebook Marketplace! I also looked on preownedweddingdresses, tradesy, poshmark, and stillwhite. You could add it to those other sites as well. Smiley smile I second the "new and never worn" or "still with tags" phrases. Also, if it hasn't been altered, include that on there! My dress was never worn and hadn't had alterations, which was important to me since I'm 5'6 and didn't want something too short.

I bought my dress on Poshmark.

Give the full measurements of the dress and if it has been altered at all!

Make sure you add on there it has never been worn!

Maybe say you bought the dress but found another because I feel like I would probably pass on a dress if I didn't know the history...I would assume you bought the dress then cancelled the wedding...and I would feel like there was bad juju! Ya know?

Facebook buy & sell groups can be a good option, StillWhite.com does charge a fee to use, and Tradesy though they take a commission I think

Poshmark was where I spent most of my time looking. I ended up buying off eBay though! So I that may be another place to add to your list!

I think its also great to add in the description your street size or body style so your buyers have an idea of how the dress would fit them. The biggest anxiety whe. Buying online is not neing able to try on to see how it fits. Measurements are good but abstract in some ways.

I was between two sizes of my dress measurement wise and i talked to a bride that wore it who looked really similar body shape to me. She generously answered tons of questions and we were the same build and street size. I picked the size she wore and it fits perfectly!
