Sell a Dress i No Longer Love?

Kayley, on July 19, 2020 at 8:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Hey everyone,

I bought a wedding dress about 2 years ago right when I got engaged but my tastes have changed and I am getting married April 3rd...has anyone ever sold an unaltered dress before, and if so how long did it take?
I need the money I get from my dress to buy a new one and I’m wondering if it’s even worth it?
Thanks for any advice!

Stillwhite.com sells pre-owned dresses (many with tags still on) and there are many positive reviews on the forums here. It doesn't make sense to keep a dress you don't want and is no longer your style. Be aware you might not get all of the money back but half to 3/4 is better than none.

Just an FYI, most brides I’ve heard who’ve had success in selling their dresses (even new, unaltered dresses), sell them for a significant markdown (like 50% of the original price). I’m sure there are others who got more, but the anecdotes from those I’ve heard from were that the dresses sold for significantly less.

I bought a new without tags hebeos dress from a bride on Poshmark. She said it took her over a year to sell. She originally paid $200; she was selling it for just under $75.

I’m trying to sell a dress I bought on Poshmark & Stillwhite at the moment. It’s been listed for over 3 months and I’ve reduced the price. Just know it may take a while to sell.
