Self-inking return address stamp

About to be Mrs. Nic, on February 13, 2014 at 12:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

I am getting ready to send out my Save the Dates. I was thinking of getting a self-inking stamp with just our first names and address to use on the back of our mailing envelopes for both my Save the Dates, and then on our wedding invitations in the future.

Questions:

1. Has anyone done this?

2. Is it OK to use the same stamp for both Save the Dates & then Formal Invites?

3. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a self-inking stamp that isn't super expensive?

I did this for my save the dates, but got our address printed for the invitations. I got one on vista print for about $6 I think. It's very small but it works. I have one on my etsy registry that will have our last name for after the wedding. I think that one is $35-40.

Yes and yes. I used it for save the dates and wanted to use it for invites but the people making my invites printed our address on the back of all the envelopes

I used one on my invites. It worked out fairly well. Word of advice though, make sure you know the size of the stamp in relation to your envelopes. Mine was way too small and looked kind of funny but at that point I couldn't bring myself to care.

I didn't do STD's but I did buy a stamp for my invitations.

I got mine from 2712designs. I also had a living social promotion that I used. Was $ 20

I am using one for both! I just ordered mine from Etsy (posting the link below for you, she has a lot of different styles), and am waiting for it to arrive. I previously purchased a stamp from the same seller, but it's not self inking, but the quality of the first one was great!

Oh yeah, thanks on the size thing. The Save the Date is 5x7 so I should make sure it's a good size stamp. Thanks for the website suggestions!!

I just got one from Vista Print. I love it. Just stamped all of my invitations today. I did however, before purchasing draw the dimensions of each size to determine which one I liked the best. It was $8, vistaprint has pretty regular promotions. I also only used our first and last names.

Vistaprint fir like $7, that's what I'm planning on doing, but I'm hand writing the guests address.

I did!!! It's so freaking cute. I used it for the invitations (we didn't do Save the Dates). And it came with an extra bottle of ink to refill the stamp.

I got the Vistaprint one as well and plan to use it on invites in addition to the save the dates we already sent out. I guess it is less formal than, say, calligraphy, but honestly I don't think anyone other than the couple getting married (and maybe their parents) will ever notice or care.
