self-catered cocktail hour

Tiffany, on November 10, 2015 at 5:50 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

My caterer (dickey's BBQ) will only be doing the dinner for my reception (just a delivery buffet) I was wondering about some ideas for cocktail hour type foods. Our ceremony is at 2 and we hope to start eating dinner around 400-430. around 70ish people. I know about veggie trays and fruit trays but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas for a nice snack that doesn't require much effort (low chance for food poisoning). We will be providing beer and possibly wine at that time as well.

Check the thread about, "My friend's wedding is this week with no hors in place."

    Lots of good ideas there.

If the tray has sliced cheese you could always get crackers. Wouldnt work so well if they cheese was cubed.

Grocery stores also do really great app trays. We had an a large antipasto tray, a cheese tray, and a veggie tray. They were HUGE and fairly inexpensive.
