Self Cater???

Has anyone here self catered? How did it go? What did you cook? How much did it cost? I wanted to get a caterer however the venue we've chosen has no caterers nearby and a lot of the restaurants we've looked at where we can order for large parties and p/u wind up being super expensive.

Star jammer. People have seen how disastrous this can be and are trying to help. Didn’t you just apologize for lashing out at people? Think of WW like you would yelp. People are giving your their opinions, like they would a review. If the majority of people write bad reviews on a restaurant, with maybe a few people saying it’s great, would you still go or would you listen to the majority?

moral of the story- don’t self-cater

Right. Proper restaurants and catering companies carry insurance so they don't go bankrupt when someone gets food poisoning or goes into anaphylactic shock and sues.

Also, no better way to say "thanks mom and dad for all you've done for me" than "please take on this massive amount of work and miss most of my wedding day to save me a few bucks".

I didn't mean to come across as rude I am sorry, in saying that please don't self cater there are cheaper options maybe stick to fruit veggie tray from king sippers Costco and then have desserts and call it a day you could get married at noon and have the reception last til 3 but don't do it yourself nothing like the bride smelling like BBQ on her big day

Our family is catering for our reception! They are making vegetable and meat trays, pulled pork, and italian dishes plus other extras. It is saving a ton of money, and they offered! In our family, and where we come from, that's how it's done.
