Seeking East Coast us Beach Honeymoon recommendations

Katherine, on February 14, 2021 at 6:04 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12
Hello,

We are looking for east coast beach honeymoon recommendations. Our wedding is in July 2021 and we'll be honeymooning soon after. We want to spend our days relaxing on the beach and maybe visit very few sites if the weather doesn't cooperate. But, relaxing and spending thi together is the main focus. We're open to all-inclusive or do-it-yourself. We want somewhere nice and warm in July, but not uncomfortably hot/humid. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!-Kat

The Outer Banks are nice and a bit further north than Florida so not as hot. Not much to actually do other than the beach, but the beaches themselves are relaxing and nice. There's only one true all inclusive resort in the US in Florida (Club Med). It's decently priced for the summer, but the reviews say the rooms are bit run down and not up to par for a nice resort, so I think we're deciding against it. We're looking at the Florida Keys or West Palm Beach.

Outer banks is beautiful! We went last year in August and it was hot don't get me wrong but there were definitely times during the day to just enjoy the heat of times right. We got an Airbnb and it was so huge and within a short walk of the beach. Saved us a ton of money. The good thing is everything is close by for food but you still feel like you're on the beach. And depending on covid restrictions there will hopefully be some more options for entertainment if you want to venture out. Most things were closed when we went but we still had a really nice time!

Wilmington, NC has three beaches ... very laid back and then about 30/40 min away is Myrtle Beach with many attractions and activities.

Thank you! I've been to OBX (Nags head, Kitty Hawk, etc) a few times w/big groups of friends including an ex-boyfriend before I knew my fiancé. So... I'm a bit meh about OBX for our honeymoon. Are there places on the beach that aren't giant houses?
But, I did like that the beaches weren't super-crowded. We'd definitely like a quieter beach feel similar to how OBX isn't over-crowded. Anything in NC or SC that is quiet/private/resort-like? Thanks!

Maybe Charleston or Kiawah? It'll be hot as hell in July though.

Try Hilton Head, in South Carolina.

It will be hot, but not as bad as Florida.

St. Michael's on Maryland's Eastern Shore is lovely. There are actually lots of great beaches on the Eastern Shore. New England has the beautiful Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard, but they will be pretty crowded in July. Other New England beach areas are Scituate, MA, and Rye, NH. I also love New York beaches, like Fire Island, Montauk, and the Hamptons.

It might be humid at that time, but Hilton Head, SC is nice. There are also smaller beach areas in NC, like Holden Beach.

Oh! I'll have to look that one up! Is it generally private (aka, not crowded)?

Kure beach is not crowded at all. Very chill place. You can go to carolina beach or downtown wilmington for a crazy time...and then you have myrtle beach one hour away. Check it out...we have the best bar there! If you come let me know I'll hook you up! Best of luck!

Thanks, Sonya! We'll be doing research over the next few months and I'll be in touch if we decide to go to Kure beach. Smiley smile
